It's not the cam that is so important, but the lighting. I do agree that the Canon and Sony models recommended are very good for the money; just keep in mind that the combination of a "fair" video camera and good lighting will turn out much better than the very best video camera and poor lighting.

Bekky always has great shots and is a very good host with a thoroughly enjoyable show. I do recall one visit where the good pics worked against her though. For some reason she had a lower quality cam that day and the video quality was really bad. If that had been my first visit to her it may well had been my last, not for anything she did wrong (don't want anyone thinking I'm bad mouthing one of my favorites hosts) just because of the cam quality, or lack thereof. Luckily it seems that was a one time occurance.

Lena just out of the kindness of my heart if you would like to send me some hardcore naked photos or videos of you using your new digital cam I will let you know if you have made a good choice :P

First of all, I answer to your first question by saying it's wrong to beat people, in any situation. It only shows there is no will, skill or chance to communicate, to solve problems other ways.

But after reading your post, I'm not willing to put the blame only on the guy. First you said he was nice and caring, and the problems started when he found out what your work really is. By telling that you answered your second question. You wanted to hide your real work, so are you yourself proud of your work? As I understood, you were already living together at that point. Have you ever wondered why problems arised? Trust. He lost it when he found out the truth. In that moment you weren't interpreter he loved, you were a camgirl, showing yourself for money to other men. Probably he was wondering what else you were hiding. Did he ask you to quit and find other work? Do it together?

Another thing what comes to my mind is that do you even really love him? Maybe you want just don't want to be alone. You start to explain how you paid everything, how he didn't buy you many gifts and the one he bought was cheap. Maybe this world has become so materialistic that it isn't a thought what matters most anymore, it should be expensive gift.

My opinion is that (like everyone else has suggested) you should break up. You could continue working and be independent person earning as much as you can. You could find a person who accepts your work and would love you anyway. He could find someone else who he can love and most importantly trust and hopefully be the nice and caring person again.

Lena, "To Lena" is right. First you must clarify whether you are talking about a simple video cam or a digital video camera. Don't have a personal recommendation, but on CC's home page you will find in the menu "Viewer Services". Go there and click on Cam to Cam and Sound Features. Then look for the heading "What you need." CC has some recommendations about cams. Otherwise, do a Google search. I'm sure you can find some free evaluation of the stuff that's out there.

Sony and JVC have always been good brands of camera's.
If you have a friend in the US you may be able to get a better deal and get more value for your money.
Taxes on such things are not as much as Europe from what I have found. I almost bougth my digital camera in Bulgaria one summer, but lucky I waited until I got back to Texas. The same one was about 400 dollars cheaper because of tax

Yeah, the differences in price (and currency valuation) often result in some things you wouldn't expect. For example, some years ago I read Japanese visiting the US would often buy Japanese cameras in the US because they were cheaper than in Japan. With the changes in currency valuations and ever-changing trade laws, I don't know if that is still true.

I do know that the dollar has fallen a great deal against most foreign currencies. I lived in Europe during the transition to the Euro, whose value initially declined against the dollar. At its lowest, you could buy one Euro for $0.80. Today one Euro costs $1.30 (i.e. 63% more!). So, with the dollar so weak, Lena might do well to ask someone here to buy it for her and ship it---if she can wait.

Each country had not nice periods in it's history:slaves, nacism, bad relationship to its colonies,etc.This doesn't mean that we should now make silly jokes about this at each convenient case, recall the cases any time, etc.

Perhaps for this reason a little book titled, “On Bullshit,” by Harry G. Frankfurt (Princeton University Press) is one of the very best selling titles in the history of philosophy. Barnes and Noble had the small volume displayed at its check out counters and it was selling like hotcakes! I am at least comforted by the thought that many Americans instinctively sense that something stinks here in America, something that has perverted so many of the principles on which it was founded. Americans need to pay more attention to the things that imperil their liberty and not let themselves be distracted by the contemptible ideological designs of propagandist outlets like Fox News and/or the omnipresent commercial interests that swarm around us like pests. Attention shoppers!
