But, don't forget that girls choose these sections because they prefer to do a softcore show, to tease, to flirt or to chat. Why would they care about ratings if they were making a lot of money? And I doubt too many lower ranked hosts are making much money unless they have a few rich viewers and don't worry about others so usually they get low ratings from new guys.

A host making a lot of money can just forget her rating. And when her rich regulars stop visiting, she can just close her account and open a new one and work hard to get a high rating.

Why did you even ask? Maybe I am wrong, but unless someone has a big ego, why care about a rating? Ratings only attract new customers, but if she has money already, why care?

I am sure for most hosts it is ultimately about making dollars. having a 4.5 or 5 star rating can help a host earn more money. That is why hosts want this.

I agree....I think hosts believe the higher the rating the more they can charge and the more videos they will do. I am not sure that's true. I think low ratings really hurt hosts...but I am not sure that very high ratings necessarily helps hosts. Also many of these girls are competitive and have a very high opinion of themselves...and they want to excel and have the best rating. Plus who knows..maybe there is some cattiness in the studio amongs hosts or the studio boss might be happier with a stable of all 5 star hosts...it is possible there is a few dynamics operating here.

We are the customers and we are the ones who give the ratings. So I think we can tell you why we pick a host for video. Price is the most important thing but ratings are important too because it tells how much risk a memeber is taking in his choice. Of course each member has his own opinion about beauty and may have specific fetish or turnon, but few guys will spend $5 in open for a little shy 5 star host no matter how "hot" she is when average price for 5 star host(60 girls) over a two week period in that category is near $1.50

It's no different than buying a car. You may want a BMW but you can't always afford it so you look for best value by looking at reviews/ratings or recommendations from other members.

I thought I posted it was for little shy category with 5 star rating. I have no reason to push prices down. Popular hosts will always make money. But if you're a host and only make $100 a pay period than either you're in wrong job or your price is crazy high compared to popular hosts.

Another site lists their top 5 earners.. One girl seemed always to be in private and make over $10,000 in month. Her price was $2. When she raise price to $3 she no longer was top 5 host. I'm sure she's still making good money but her members were happy at $2 but she lost some at $3. Or they could only afford shorter video. It's all about supply and demand and finding right price of youself as host.

This job is clearly not for everyone! If they are not making more than I see posted here then there is clearly some bigger problem than $$. It could be their pics aren't them, they aren't entertaining, they brush their hair, they sleep and don't understand why no viewers....who knows but there is definitely a problem and it's not high price for every situation like you seem to advice. That is my point.

All the things you listed are important. But everything starts at price. Not all members are millionaires. Some can afford the higher prices, but most wont even consider a girl above a certain price. Some members are cheaper than others and only want $1 or below. I believe that price should only be for new girls. between $1 to $2 is fair price considering one popular host is at $2. Of course some members will go to old favorite at higher prices too. But they probably will go to lower priced host more often. That is just human nature.

If members think you're not worth $3 then you wont make much money. If members think you are worth $2 then you can make lots of money. It all depends on the taste of members and the prices of other girls.

It's your choice. I'm only saying what worked for my friend.

My numbers were unbiased look. I checked for 5 star check price and wrote it down. I didn't look at photos in profile, I didn't check if hosts did show or not if they stripped or not. I also noted if they had trophy in profile(contest winner or cover girl). I sort list by price, got average price and got median price.

After I had numbers I did look to see names of host that had good comments by many different members in member forum. Just to get idea of what some top host are charging.

This information is good for my friend because she can decide to set her price where is right for her. She understands she is not the hottest girl here and didn't make much money at a higher price.

Difference between 50 cents is a lot. Some girls would never set $0.50 as price but would maybe consider to set $1.00 so as you say what is difference between $1.50 and $2.00 for host working at home it's only $0.25 less in earnings per minute but for members it's $0.50 per minute. One hour @ $1.50 is $90 and one hour @ $2 cost $120. In the price difference a member can have 30 minutes with a host @ $1.

Some guys say they wont go to glamour or little shy for over $1. Others say max is $1.50... still others say $2. or for some price don't matter.

If you're making good living then fine keep same price. But if you're like my friend who is getting older for age of host and wants to have children and buy own flat. She needs and wants to earn more and understand she needs to find right price for her so that some members still come to her for long videos. At higher price she only had 1 video in 2.5 months longer than 30 minutes. In the next 2.5 months @ lower price she had 50 videos between 30 to 59 minutes long and another 17 videos that were 1 hour or longer. So 67 videos longer than 30 minutes compared to only 1. Tell me which is better?

It really is about supply and demand and basic economics You really have to have price that average member is willing to pay for the service you offer.

I can't say my friend has great speaking skills. She has strong accent too and many times has to try to find right English word. Maybe it's my fault that we didn't speak very often because I didn't ask her to do it. I should do it more to help her but I didn't want to make her feel uncomfortable. She still sometimes uses translator program like many hosts for chat..

If you're happy with earnings then don't worry. But don't let your ego get in way of possibly earning a lot more money. You should always try to save money for your future life. As you say your skill in chat and speaking is not the best. Please don't be offended, but do you think you should get same price as top hosts with great speaking and also does hot shows? I think most members will probably say no.

There is this one really hot young Russian host on another site. Great tits and great ass, but face is just average in my opinion but maybe other guys think she is pretty. Her speaking and chat is probably below average, but wow that body! She's one of the top 5 earners on that site because members are willing to pay her price.

I hope you and other hosts understand I don't care what price you or other hosts set. It doesn't help me or my friend in any way. I don't know what caterory you're in but if you're as hot as you think you are and also do shows then you should be making at least $100 a day($50 if you're working in a studio.) I know because I helped a friend who left CC a few years ago when ratings system first started and had 5 stars. Now she came back but with high price and wrong category. She made barely $100 each month. I kept telling her price was too high, but she didn't listen. Too much pride. Finally after 2.5 months she dropped price and changed category She made more in first day with lower price than she did in the month before.

She's near 30 now and she's cute but not hot. I know hot when I see it. But she knows how to show that she's enjoying what she is doing. Most important thing is that she set a reasonable price for herself. I told her lower but didn't say how low. She actually when lower than I would have told her to set. Now I'm telling her to raise her price slowly and see what the "market" will take.

Remember it's a competition between hosts to attack buyers. If another 5 star host is popular with members(they wrote about her in member forum) and she also was cover girl and won contests then you better use her as example. Look to see how many photos she posts.. maybe ask a member friend what kind of photos she posted.. but most important.. your price better be lower than her price. Because if she is BMW and has lower price than you then member will 9 times out of 10 pick her..

From checking prices over about 2 weeks period. 45 glamour hosts with 5 star rating had average price around $1.80 and median was $1.70. Low was $0.80 high was $5. Girls who also were covergirl or won contest were $2.50

My guess would be you'll do better at $1.50 or even $1.25 but there were 13 girls with prices lower than $1.50 It's up to you how low you go with price and willing to accept. I think it's better to have longer videos at lower price than to have many short ones as you are having now. You can always raise price back up if you are too busy.

Remember its important to take many snapshots for profile so members can see what you look like in video.

If you want to make claims like that I think you should identify yourself!! Why are you hiding behind your claims??

Cam sites compete with each other. Many , but not all have ratings. I know of 2 that require 2 minutes before a viewer can vote. I know of another that has 5 minutes, but is only used for contests not displayed ratings, which there are none. And there is one that requires 5 minutes and it counts toward a very complicated model cam score. On one site that requires 2 minutes, they post the number of votes. If you see a 5 star host with only 2 or 3 votes, it has .less impact than a 5 star with several hundred votes. So ratings can be very misleading. I'd like to see actual written reviews, ones that can not be deleted by hosts just because they may not like them.

The number one reason in chathost's FAQ, "Can I make money at this?" I see it on another site and it works well. And you have to spend a good deal of $ overall on site before you can even make a written comment. So they let the real spenders tell it like it is. And 95% of comments I've seen are good. And I'm an 8 year member there. I've even seen other members come to the defense of models after a bad comment was made.

i would think it would be great if cc would let hosts give this as an option if they want. say like 1 minute or something of free video.

but, even though i am a viewer, please make it an option the host can enable if they want it. some hosts are doing great and i understand them not wanting some kind of new change. so do not make it a forced change, make it an option when they log on?

also, thumbs up again to hosts that post current pics for that session. personally, i have stopped visiting any cover girls because the difference in their pics is so great from what they actually look like. i know this might be frustrating to them if other guys feel the same way. imagine, they spend all this money and effort on pics, and then nobody comes. the only chance you have of me coming to your vid is if you post a pic that looks real. the moment i get into your vid if you look like the pic (it was a photo from that day) you have even a better chance right away that i will stay in vid and not just drop.

I hate fake pics and have given one star and reported the hosts too because of them. Usually, a host with fake pics isn't that good of a host anyway so one star probably isn't that far off the mark in terms of what she deserves.

If the host is new, however, I might not report her. Recently, a host had what seemed to me to be fake pics and didn't look good on cam so I just left her room without voting. I then went back into free chat and told her she should change the pics. She didn't, and at one point her rating was about 2 stars. I think it is now about 3.5 stars.

My reason for not reporting her was that she might be new to sites and concerned about her privacy so I thought a nice warning from me was a better way to go. I hadn't spent that much so I figured it was better to just give her the benefit of the doubt. I guess I should report her now since she didn't listen to me to protect other members.

I have also seen hosts take pics of people that I know. In fact, one time it was the pics of a host that I had met, lol. I definitely reported that host, lol.

But I had more fun another time. One host stole a very close friend's pics. I went into her free chat and basically scared the sh*t out of her. I told her I was going to report her. I told her it didn't matter if she hid the pics since CC could still see them even if members couldn't. I told her I had printscreens to show that the pics had at one time been visible. I was really pissed off since she had taken a good friend's pics. Plus it was more fun than reporting her.

I know it might seem cruel what I did, but she stole the pics of a friend that I care a lot about, and she needed to be taught a lesson. Plus, her reason was stupid. She said she was hiding from her boyfriend, but she had other pics in her profile that showed her face, and she wasn't using my friend's pics as her profile pics. And she was had been on CC awhile so she knew better.

Anyway, she apologized and said she wouldn't have stolen pics from a host if she knew that host was on CC too. Apparently she got them from another site. I forgave her and asked if she wanted me to go into video since her real pics looked pretty good, but for some reason, she wasn't in the mood. I wonder why? lol.

Well, I would have stayed longer than 5 minutes if she hadn't shown so much for so long in free. That is why I said hosts should perhaps tease in a sexy outfit instead of getting naked. But usually the free sessions I've seen are where the host just sits there and does nothing.

Well I suppose if you promise a lot then you increase the chances that a viewer will be disappointed even if you try to deliver what you promised. That's why, when my boss asks how long a job will take, I work out how long it would take a conscientious colleague to do it, add on 50% for my laziness, 50% for my incompetence and 50% for good luck and my boss is never disappointed (at least with the delivery times).

But I suspect that the real reason is more to do with your imagination and only slightly to do with reality.

I don't think that is realistic of how you would see the hosts in person. Also without actually communicating through chat or in video you can't possibly know what her personality is. Maybe she doesn't look the same each time as well.
I will say that I don't approve of a host putting up pics that are much different than she appears in video. I have a difficult time believing that it is that common that she appears so different but if so then complain if it is deceptive ....We don't all need to change because of a few dishonest hosts. You have options to address that with particular hosts.
There is too much of that in the world now....one guy puts a bomb in his shoe and now we all have to remove shoes at the airport.....not practical thinking.

I know the video wouldn't be the perfect way to screen hosts and pick someone for video but it is better than posed, static pictures. It is harder to stage a 60 second video...easy for a still picture. And I think what a host did in those 60 seconds...her body language...how expressive she was would tell a lot about her. Hell...when I go to a bar it takes less than 60 seconds to see a girl...observe her behavior and decide to give it a try.... The technology shouldn't be too difficult to implement though sure there would be a cost. I would like it.... the free video the other sites give is real time and that is a zoo...I would rather the host take time and put together a little snippet of what you could expect in video....rated G...nothing too sexual or you creeps would be whacking off and setting new world records....

By the way, you can change just some of your money. I doubt you need to change all of it. I think Russians decide which currency to save their money in so, for example, a Russian host could save 40% in rubbles, 40% in euro, 20% in dollars. It is always good to diversify although it makes it a little more difficult since, in my example, 3 accounts are needed. But unless banks have government insurance like they do in the usa, 3 accounts in 3 banks might be a good idea. Just some more thoughts...

This is very complicated topic which would take days to explain but a falling USD is not a signal USA economy is collapsing in fact, there are many positive benefits to USA economy when dollar falls in value. USA seells more good to rest of world we correct a serious imbalance much of the world enjoys now. USA wants to force China to properly price its currency so this is a way to force that. Anyone holding USD as investments of course see no good in it. USA can stop falling dollar any time it wishes just raise interest rates and dollar will rise. In terms of the benefits of a falling dollar, yes, it helps with exports, and it makes our homemade goods cheaper compared to imports. But it also causes commodities to be higher in price so it can hurt US consumers too.

I think I rather see a stronger dollar and a tougher stand on trade policy as opposed to the current strategy. Nobody wins in a trade war, but I think other countries would lose more and give in sooner than the USA would. Of course, if nobody gave in, it would cause another Great Depression so it is a dangerous approach.

Cut spending and have a strong dollar... Then the USA will "win". Otherwise, we are in trouble. The economy won't collapse but we will be surpassed by at leasat China, and maybe the E.U as well.

America needs a period of inflation...heresy I know...but it seems to be the only way to get the value of homes to rise and the value of debts to decline. The presumption is with inflation salaries and the value of assets increase. The issue is inflation is like the genie let out of the bottle....not easy to get him back in. With inflation on the horizon their pensions will be worth less and less each year...and many may have to go back to work or cut back on the hours they spend on CC...and we cant have that.

1. Never lie or mislead about your show. Lying about your age, location and marital status is expected and it is not important.

Agree with the first part. Disagree with the second. I like to know the host as a person so I prefer that she is honest with me about her age, location, and marrital/bf status. I'm not going to not visit or visit her less often because she's married or has a bf or because of any of her other answers so why not just be honest? Anyway, lying about age and location are specifically prohibited in the rules although this isn't really enforced.

2. Keep your archive pictures current.

Agree 100% and would add make sure they reflect what you're willing to do in your shows.

3. Do not ask viewer for his cam, if he wants to do c2c, he will do so on his own.

Disagree, but I usually give my cam. I would only add that I shouldn't be given a difficult time if I don't want to give it.

4. Do not ask the 20 questions routine, it is viewed as stalling by most viewers.

Obviously agree, but it's pretty easy to direct the conversation where you want to go. "I'm John, los angeles, 35... u?" Ntmu2" "I loved your pics. Can I see more?" That pretty much forces her in the direction where you want her to go since anything else is obviously stalling.

5. If you have another open room either on cc or elsewhere, close when you get a viewer in either open or 121.

You are mistaken, we can hide our location and change our age without breaking the cc rules.

I should add while that applies to profiles, common sense would say that you cannot verbally mislead viewers either. The intent of the rule is clear. Moreover, CC automatically says what country you are from based upon your ip address unless you choose to hide it (although their system isn't perfect) so they clearly don't want you lying about your country.

Therefore, you must put your correct age in your profiles (so you would never have a chance to lie about your age verbally), and most likely say "I rather not say" as opposed to lying abour your country. But feel free to lie about whether you have a bf or are married, lol.

Usually when I've one starred a host it happens for one of three reasons: 1) she was rude, including ignoring me or her attitude, 2) she wouldn't strip when the rules required, and 3) she lied about what she would do in video.

In terms of situations 2) and 3), I can get a credit from CC, post in her personal forum (until she deletes it), and post in the member forum so I suppose the one star isn't really necessary. Plus, the conversation probably lasted more than 2 or 3 minutes before it got to the point where she didn't do what she was supposed to so I can probably one star her anyway under your idea.

In terms of situation 1), I am not so sure I like the idea. I've gone to video for example, said "Hi" right away, and the host will say nothing for about 45 seconds. I've left and one starred as a result. Even if other viewers or on other sites, she needs to at least acknowledge ur presence, and 30 seconds is plenty of time to do that. All I need is a "Hi" after all. Of course, if she's in the middle of a show, that would be different, and I might not even care if she said "Hi' right away. But if not doing a show, and she ignores me thereafter, she could also get one star, but that would be into the second minute and beyond by then.

There are also cases that the host is rude right from the get go, literally within the first minute, so I'd want to be able to one star her then too. Also, sometimes this can come in the form of "I'm busy." She may have said it nicely, but I'm paying from the second I'm in video, and she's not saying I get a refund along with her request that I leave. Either learn how to manage your room, inlucding giving people passwords or talk to everyone. (Your idea that she could start 121 would help with this.)

I don't always one star, however, in that case. It depends how she says it and if she is in hard core where I have a right to expect a show regardless of who else is there. If she is nice and soft core, I probably won't rate her. If rude or hard core, one star is on the way. You aren't there to chat in hard core if someone wants a show. Hosts need to accept this. Either go soft core or give passwords. Don't put it on me to waste my money and come back later.

I know some hosts think some of this is pretty harsh, but with all due respect, too bad. I'm nice to you, and I'm paying, so if you treat me with any type of disrespect and make me feel that I wasted my money, you're probably getting one star. But the good news is, I don't usually one star. I've seen plenty of hosts where I just say to myself, for example, "This girl needs to find a new job." But sucking at being a host won't get you one star. It is usually because the host annoyed me somehow. And by the way, I give 5 stars 90% of the time, don't rate or 2 to 4 stars 5%, and one star 5%. It isn't like I'm doing it a lot.

In terms of the host being allowed to go 121 without the member paying extra, some type of feature that blocked additional viewers from entering the room would be good. They can use passwords now but that can interfere with the flow of the chat if the viewer needs to leave and come back. And it would deal with the "I'm busy" situations if she was willing to use this feature.

I like your ideas. And it would keep guys from jumping into video for the purpose of rating, be it 1 star or 5 stars. But the reality is, as harsh as I seem, like I said, I'm almost always giving 5 stars. I think the real problem is that we are too generous with the ratings so they aren't accurate at all. Plenty of average hosts end up with 4 stars are more when they probably should be around 3 stars. That is why I always say, focus on the 4,5 and 5 star hosts, and consider 4 star hosts too. Usually, there won't be any problems since these hosts usually know what they're doing.

You can never win a battle when your fighting with your customers unless you have a monopoly and your customers have nowhere else to go. Just remember that. No matter what, you have no choice to make at least some of them happy, well, unless you're in dungeon, lol.

Your mistake is you think you're a typical customer. It is not profitable to waste time on a finicky customer, so, obviously, some hosts are willing to give up on a jerk or two.

Perhpas I am, or perhaps I am not. What seems real to me is that a number of posts in the forums indicate that a number of customers are unhappy, that hosts are worried about stars, and that hosts are worried about traffic. All that adds up to one thing: regardless of whether they like picky customers, they have no choice but to deal with us. There simply aren't enough slaves to go around, lol.

And while I am picky, like I said, I'm giving 5 stars most of the time even though a lot of them probably don't deserve it. But as you can see from some posts, hosts didn't focus on that. They focused on my attitude that I expect them to do their jobs well, be honest, and comply with the rules because if they push me, the 5 could drop to a 1. You see, they just want slaves and even though they are being paid, want to be able to do what they want. That might be human nature, but it doesn't make for a good host.

I hate it when traveling outside the usa or if helping a friend. But overall, it often means I'm making money since usually american stocks are going up when the dollar is down since it helps with exports. My foreign stocks go down, but I have more american stocks and the money I've already invested in foregin companies actually appreciates since it is now in a foreign currency (unless hedged) so it works out.

Of course, if the dollar goes down too much and oil gets too expensive as a result, then most stocks will go down regardless of location so then it is a lose lose situation. And right now, if things in the middle east get out of control, i would expect the dollar to go up but oil to go up too and that probably will also not do anyone much good. The extra money hosts get, for example, will not be enough to make up for the increase in costs of things.

It's all sucks, lol. Having a strong dollar usually means there are problems in the world so you can't win. Just watch. All those who think the usa is going in the toilet: whenever there are problems, the dollar goes up. Maybe it is a good sign when it goes down, as long as it isn't too much.

You would be surprised what kind of aid countires like the US and Britain give to Russia or China. It's not the usual "aid" that we think about that "rich" countries give to other counties.

They send "aid" to help encourage governments to do things that they would probably otherwise not do. For example the US is "working" with Russia to help secure nuclear material in the former USSR countries. The material is taken to Russia then shipped to US for disposal.

They also send support to groups to help promote free press and to promote business opportunities for people wanting to import products into Russia.

It might not just be that they don't want to have printscreens or videos of them all over the internet. It could simply be that unless a host is short, it is hard to get one's entire body on the camera and still be close enough to see everything well. Plus, a lot of guys like zoom and hosts seem to do it automatically.

I usually am saying zoom out all the time or asking to see face too, and usually they comply although not all of them are good at setting the camera angle well to get a good view of everything. And I can think of only two that ever refused to show their faces and their naked bodies at the same time after I asked to see all at once.

I have taught English informally. In order to be understood, you need to be able to say things with the minimum of ambiguity. With regard to the American 'English' thing, why do they say [aluminum] for aluminium when there are several other chemical elements ending with -ium which they don't pronounce [-um]?
