What I've noticed:

I do my own typing and my own camera. No as hosts we do not know when a member is online unless he lets us know with a mail or comes to our room or unless he sees a host who is in a studio and other hosts happen to see who is in her room, or if the host says...ohhh so in so is in my room.

Also hosts that have talked to me have told me of these ways of finding out how to know if a member is seeing another host ....another way is to read the viewer and general forum, members without realizing will post about another host using their name, or they will respond to a post that is written using their name. so it is not always difficult to find out if a member is seeing another host and if he is to know who. These are things that I and many hosts on here would not do, but there are a few hosts that would and do.

Someone posted the other day that hosts are not allowed to post members names in these forums, but if in a studio, or in comm chat or if hosts talk away from this site then they are able to mention names of members and do. again not all hosts do but there are a few that do.

I do my own typing and also at home...and when I was in studio I did my own typing...no one can really express what I want to say the way I want to say it...but then I do understand if the host does not understand English very well but then the best way to learn is to practice writing it yourself..

I agree in an open session it is not good to use the mic when there is more than one person in, what one person wants to hear is not what all the others want to hear. :) but in a 121 session I have no problem using my sound. Two perspectives on this for me:
If it's obvious she's not telling the truth, yes that is a black mark against her and will be taken into consideration. However it's still just one part of the whole..I'll still take into account looks, price, category, etc, but it definitely is a strike against her right from the start.

I am in he USA and I know custody laws vary by each state. But it is extremely rare for a man to gain custody of a child. The courts award custody to the mother 98% of the time. In the case of either one of the parents giving up parental rights, the remaining parent would have full custody.

But I strongly urge you to talk to a lawyer in your local city or town to really get the actual facts.

Think that's a great idea...as a member, I've probably been on the receiving end of that..ie clicking on a host I was interested in and having it say she was offline, when she was just away for a bit..without even knowing it. All I know for sure, is that I'm dissappointed at the time, and then move on. I know of one site that has a nice pause feature for hosts...when you click on video, it says something to the effect of: Im taking a short break, please check back soon. It's a feature that would clearly be benifical to both hosts and members alike.

I do not expect the same things on all sites because all sites have differences. Although there are many things to like about cc, every other site I go to is much more modern than here. And in my opinion cc has been kept very close to what it was in its early days for some reason or reasons decided by the powers that be. So again in my opinion it is pointless to suggest and change in the status quo on cc. I think it's best to work through the situation and make the best of it.

I have never been to Vietnam. But a friend of mine has. Here are a couple of locations he liked a great deal:
Cu Chi tunnels,Halong Bay, Imperial City, Forbiden Purple City. Of course Saigon and Hanoi. He found the people gracious and friendly. Have a great trip.

First of all, while I have been to Vietnam, it is already 10 years ago, and it is a country in fairly quick development, which means things may have changed a bit since then - of course apart from the scenery and old culture.

I travelled with some people who were originally from there, so it was a slightly different experience than the usual tourist might expect. Apart from that people are indeed friendly and accommodating, but as you will stick out as a tourist, expect also lots of trade offers and some begging.

What surprises me a bit is that you would like to go there but know nothing of the country. So what makes you want to go there in the first place, if you know nothing? Just the name of the country?

Yes it is a long flight, but I spent 15 hours on a plane in three legs, and a total of 37 hours of travel from I left my house till I checked in to our first guest house - so 9 hours isn't so bad ;)

If you are asking for flight suggestions, you should be able to find it yourself. A transfer time of 1 hour might be challenging fate a bit - what if your first flight is late? Depending on where you travel from, I would at least suggest going via a hub that does not send you in the wrong direction in the first place - it will just add to your travel time. And you will need to be fairly fresh once you land in either Saigon (officially Ho Chi Minh City after 1975) or Hanoi, as you will now be on another planet ;)

The places I have seen are as follows: Saigon, Mekong Delta (you can take a day trip here from Saigon), Vung Tau - a fairly quiet town on the south coast with some beach options, Da Lat - a mountain resort at 1500 m, with a more pleasant temperature (so much that the locals put on much clothing in the evening), Nha Trang - also a beach resort with a 4 km long beach and nowadays probably lots more hotels than in 2002, and Hoi An - an old city with some nice sights, and much more quiet than many others.

It depends of course - what are you looking for? What are your interests? Culture? Or just lying on a beach and licking sun all day? In that case you do not have to travel much. But if you want to see sights, I would suggest some of the old Cham culture, there are several temple sites around, some of them near Phan Rang quite a bit east of Saigon, some in Nha Trang, and a large site near Hoi An which was unfortunately mostly turned to rubble by american bombs.
Saigon has of course a lot to offer, including the Cu Chi tunnels 50 km away (used by the VC, much to the dismay of the americans, who couldn't fit into the tunnels). Hué was the old imperial capital, and here you will find Vietnam's 'Forbidden City' mentioned in the other reply. Hanoi is the old capital and probably has more history than Saigon - and if you like spectacular scenery, Halong Bay is a must-see, but it takes at least a full day from Hanoi (better two days).

10 days? I was there almost 4 weeks although we dwindled much in places, and I was unfortunately not able to go to the places I wished to, due to the other's lack of interest for it. And I never got past the central part of the country. Travelling? I would very very very much strongly advise against driving on your own, as traffic there is ultra chaotic at its worst, and the most important part of any vehicle is - the horn. In general, there are no rules. If there is space for another vehicle, then we can add it. If there is space for one more motorcycle, we will press it in. And crossing the street on foot can be a challenge in itself ;) But there's a trick..ah ah!

You can travel by bus or rail, then use taxi to get to hotels. Mostly it isn't expensive at all. You can also travel by plane, but will miss seeing much of the countryside, which is an experience in itself.

I'd still like to know what your preferences are before suggesting anything further. But this small novel was my short version of a reply ;)

I respect your opinion, but I simply can't judge other people's choices: I don't know what's going on in their lives, what they can or cannot do, etc.

I never expected my viewer forum post to generate so many interesting and controversial comments. Elle, I respect your opinion tho we will have to agree to disagree particularly when it comes to being called naive. Certainly you have specified the costs for apartment rental, internet and the one time cost for a webcam (which btw I have offered to pay for) yet your anaysis fails to consider the multitude of other expenses such as food, clothing, utilities, taxi's, and other things such as career training. In this case. Other expenses are also involved but should remain private. Admittedly, I don't know the average wages in Eastern Europe vs the cost of living index tho $1000/month seems a meager amount to be deemed as being a livable income. The comment there is no guarantee of the monthly amount is a very relevant issue as well. Additionally, and you can certainly correctly me on this without offense, I've consistently heard the percentage received by studio hosts is approximately 30 and, at best 40 of the rate charged to the member. Maybe this isn't so bad in 4+ hour vid session but honestly, how many times per month does a host spend this amount of time in vid with a single member? It's easy to judge and/or offer an opinion not knowing all the circumstances and facts relative to this one situation. I don't even know if everything I'm being told is all true. I'll admit I've been played before and it's a good bet i will be again.Yet, I don't thnk it is proper to comdemn me for trusting and believing in someone that has up until this point given me no reason to doubt thier honesty.
