But seriously, there is one thing I would like to know about reincarnation. How come everyone that believes in reincarnation, always say they were someone famous in a past life, like a king or queen, or great philospher or something like that? I never hear anyone that believes in reincarnation say they were a lowly peasant or slave or a famous person that was hated by the masses for doing atrocious acts of cruelty or even just some ordinary Joe from an ordinary town with an ordinary life. If that is the case then reincarnation would only be something that happens to people that are rich, famous, well loved and powerful. Which kind of debunks the whole theory of reincarnation since the people that I have heard say they were famous in past lives are just commoners in this life. So that would mean they could not be reincarnated into someone else because they are not famous now. Ouch! My head is starting to hurt. Too many thoughts rushing around. I don't think it is a crime to say I Love You especially if you have known that person for a while but the problem is that it is very easy, especially through text chatting, for people to misinterpret what another person is saying and then feelings can get hurt.

"I love you" is a powerful statement which should be used judiciously and reserved for those people that you truly have deep feelings for. Far too many people in this day and age are quick to say it as easily as they say "hello". The danger in that is, when something is so easily said and becomes so commonplace, it loses it's value, it's power, and begins to get taken for granted. It has little meaning for the person hearing it. I don't know about you, but when I tell someone I love them I want those words to be taken seriously and have a profound meaning. That is why I save those words only for someone that I care about very deeply, like a lover or family or a very very close friend. Casual friends and acquaintances will never here those words from me.
If you wish to express your feelings of appreciation to someone for their friendship there are other things you could say which would have a much less chance of being misinterpreted as feelings of romantic love and risking hurting someone's feelings. If your English is still not that great, then this is an exciting opportunity for you to expand your understanding and knowledge of the language. I am sure your close English speaking friends would be more than happy to help you learn new words and ways of expressing feelings of friendship, if you asked them. But if you insist on using "I love you" at least be sure to be clear about how you love that person when you say it to prevent misinterpretation and possible hurt feelings. For example, "You are such a dear friend to me. I love you like a sister." Hope my post helped give you a different perspective. Take care Anne.

Sorry Anonymous, I'm still confused, but I'm not going to lose any sleep over it! That's exactly why one has to be careful when using the word "love" on an internet chatsite. It seems the word itself sometimes defies definition in here, and "here" meaning not the real world. But I agree with cupid, if you do "love" someone then those feelings really need to be expressed outside of this site, and not revealed to the entire CC-Community........Having said that I have "feelings" for a certain chathost on this site, however I do keep it private as it should be, and share it only with her.

As for me i have only said "I Love You" to one person on this site, which was way last year, and those 3 words i typed where from the heart and i truely love her, i still do, but i hide it so as not to make her feel uncomfortable when we chat, and i know her feelings towards me are love but as a very close friend. But thats fine by me cos i know i would be lost without her here and i know also it will never go any further. Maybe i`m happy that it won`t, it makes it safer. I dunno, but those 3 words can cause different impacts on so many ppl. So i just hide my feelings which is kinda hard to do a hell of a lot of the time and i haven`t said those words to another girl on cc since, even my very very close friend who i miss a lot now she is taking a break.
I don`t know if any of this makes sense to anyone reading it, cos it`s hard to make sense of these words "I Love You" and its even more hard to convey what is in my mind, so many things come to me, that when it comes to typing them here it just doesn`t sound right...
