I agree with Elen. Who protest just get money for that. If Ukraine joins EU so they may forget about cheap russian gas and russian markets. And in Europa their commodities are needed nobody. Without russian support ukranian economy can not exist.

Thats what they tell to you, but that is not the truth... even German can buy gas from Russia, and even we Finns can still make business with Russia, and yes buy gas too... and EU doesnt say that agreement with them prevent Ukraine making agreement with Russia too, so why does Russia say that agreement with EU prevent agreement with Russia?

Yes but gas prices for Europa is around 415$ with prepayment and for Ucrain is 300$ on credit. Do you feel diffrance? And How do you think why such is? because it is price of loyalty and mutually beneficial colloboration. If they want to EU so they'll have european prices for gas, higher custom duties and must return all the gas debts. It is astronomical sum. Ukranian budget is not enough to pay the gas debt.

the price on gas for Ukraine in 2013 was about 420- 430 $ (417$- in budget of ukraine) . Our ex prime minister Timoshenko is in Prison for signing contract with Russia on such HIGH price. One of the highest in Europe. At least it was a reason to put her to prison.

I dont think there are many real Ukrainian hosts here, most of them are from eastern ukraine and they or their parents are born in russia, so they dont really think like ukrainians.
It was seen in video, how "ukrainian" police take ukrainian flag from protester, abuse this flag and let it drop down to street, so how can anybody believe that even police in ukraine are really ukrainian?
Anyaway, there was about 350 000 protester gathered in Kiev on sunday, so this is not some minor part of population who rather wants to make agreement with EU than with RU

Why do you divide Ukranian nation? Yes there are many diffrances between East and West parts of Ukraine but anyway it is one and indivisible sovereign state. I think it is impolately and rude concerning Ukranian people to say that west ukrainian is real ukrainian and east is not.

Yes, that's my impression too... it being best for Ukraine to be independent and truly democratic, not bound up by one side or the other. It does seem like a very complicated situation, and I hope the beautiful Ukrainian people can navigate through this time peacefully.

They are not payed!!! they are there to struggle for their and OUR! rights and freedom! 1 million of people went to Maydan on Sunday! After the goverment gave an order to beat students in night. I think the people all over the world saw it. The only people who are payed - those who went to support the goverment.

I was aware of the duality between South-East and North-West UA. I was aware of the KGB/CCCP propaganda that still exists. At least have the courage of reading other sources of information: http://ec.europa.eu/trade/policy/countries-and-regions/countries/ukraine/. But again, I hope the protests can happen peacefully without injuries for nobody. UA is too much in my heart for this.

no one is paying the protesters, they want real change. Putin wants Ukraine under his thumb as a show of force, he doesn't give a shit about the Ukraine and never has. Look at all the good things Russia has brought to you...Communism, control, famine, and nuclear weapons: your choice; join Europe and have a chance for a better life or stay in the same old shit...no jobs, no money, but you do get to work for this site and all the others for the next 20 years...nice. folks, even Serbia wants to join the EU...come in the water is fine!

It's not quite so simple as that. Ukraine has deep cultural ties to Russia, and the EU is not promising anything in the short term. I'm sure that hosts who need to will continue to work on CC under either regime. I hope the Ukrainian people make the decision for themselves, and can do so peacefully.
