mechanics of life

The inventor of the Harley-Davidson motorcycle, Arthur Davidson, died and went to heaven.
At the gates, St. Peter told Arthur.
"Since you've been such a good man and your motorcycles have changed the world, your reward is, you can hang out with anyone you want to in heaven."
Arthur thought about it for a minute and then said,
"I want to hang out with God."
St. Peter took Arthur to the Throne Room, and introduced him to God.
God recognized Arthur and commented,
"Okay, so you were the one who invented the Harley-Davidson motorcycle? "
Arthur said, "Yeah, that's me..."
God commented:
"Well, what's the big deal in inventing something that's pretty unstable, makes noise and pollution, and can't run without a road?"
Arthur was a bit embarrassed, but finally spoke, "Excuse me, but aren't you the inventor of woman?"
God said, "Ah, yes."
"Well," said Arthur, "professional to professional, you have some major design flaws in your invention !
1. There's too much inconsistency in the front-end suspension
2. It chatters constantly at high speeds
3. Most rear ends are too soft and wobble about too much
4. The intake is placed way too close to the exhaust
5. The maintenance costs are outrageous!!!!
"Hmmmmm, you may have some good points there," replied God,"hold on."
God ! went to his Celestial supercomputer, typed in a few words and waited for the results.
The computer printed out a slip of paper and God read it.
"Well, it may be true that my invention is flawed," God said to Arthur, "but according to these numbers, more men are riding my invention than yours."

Independence Day: 4th of July

happy 4th to all our neighbors, friends, and family. The Great Red Skelton said it best when he made this speech. "Boys and girls, I have been listening to you recite the Pledge of Allegiance all semester and it appears that it has become monotonous to you or could it be you do not know the meaning of those words. If I may, I would like to recite the Pledge and give to you a definition of the words.
I----meaning me, an individual, a committee of one.
Pledge----dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self pity.
Allegiance----my love and my devotion.
To the Flag----our standard, Old Glory, a symbol of freedom. Wherever she waves, there is respect because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts freedom is everybody's job.
Of the United----that means that we have all come together.
States----individual communities that have united into 48 great states. 48 individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose, all divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to a common cause, and that's love of country.
Of America.
And to the Republic----a republic, a state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.
For which it stands!
One nation----meaning, so blessed by God.
Indivisible----incapable of being divided.
With Liberty----which is freedom and the right of power to live one's life without threats or fear or any sort of retaliation.
And justice----The principle and quality of dealing fairly with others.
For all.----which means, boys and girls, it's as much your country as it is mine."

Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our nation, and two words have been added to the Pledge of Allegiance "under God." Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said, "That's a prayer" and that would be eliminated from schools, too?

I'm an Englishman who studied the American Constituion with great interest, particularly because we British were the bad guys. I would be grateful if you could define the concept of 'America', the ideology which informed the formation of the USA. I always understood it to be fundamentally as anti-european, no kings/queens, no social heirarchy......."All men are born equal.....".

Thank you.

RE: Independence Day: 4th of July

Well, you first need to look at 'America' then versus 'America' now.

America back at the time of the American Revolution was not necessarily anti-European and everything else on your list. After all, Americans had their roots in Europe, much stronger roots than today. And there had just been a war between France and England for control of America. In fact, George Washington was in the British army, a colonel, I believe. And immediately after the American Revolution and the War of 1812, America continued to have strong ties to England, just as we do now.

Americans simply didn't like the idea of some guy thousands of miles across a big ocean telling them what to do and not even having any type of real voice in Parliament. In essence, Americans were second class citizens and didn't like it. They were taxed without representation. There were limits on having guns which is not a good thing if you live in or near the wilderness. There was no right to keep British soldiers from saying "Hey. We don't care if this is your home. We're bunking here for the night.'

It got bad enough that Americans revolted against the most powerful country on Earth. Think about that. Either Americans were incredibly stupid or incredibly pissed off to be willing to take on such an empire. That's how bad things got in their opinion. Had England taken the situation more seriously at the beginning, and had the French not helped, we'd all probably have British accents right now, lol.

In any event, this was a war about freedom from what was viewed as tyranny. But it wasn't about being anti-Europe. And it certainly wasn't about freedom for all. 'All men are created equal?' Ha! Not all women too, and definitely not all men either. There was slavery, after all, for close to 100 years after the revolution began.

This was about the rights of white men, and in large part, white, property-owning men. It took a long time before it became a country where everyone is, at least theoretically, equal, regardless of race, ethnicity, religion or gender. We're still working on the sexual preference thing.

Still, while the United States didn't invent democracy, clearly it is the major influence in spreading it and maintaining it throughout the world. In fact, most other countries are going to have democracy whether they like it or not if you look at some of the the USA's actions, lol. We do tend to get involved when perhaps we should not. But generally speaking, the USA does more good than bad in terms of pushing governments around the world towards freedom for their people.

Are we saints? No. Are we hypocritical at times? Of course. But when you look at our history, like I said, we have done a lot more good than harm. I doubt Eastern Europe, for example, would be as free as it is right now but for the USA and the West standing up to the Soviets. If President Reagan didn't basically say to Russia 'Okay. You want a nuclear arms race? I'll give you a nuclear arms race!' and basically push Russia towards economic destruction, there still might be an 'Iron Curtain'. It was Western influence, led by the USA, that led to the fall of the Soviet Union. And similar things have happened around the world.

But yes, the people on the ground.. the citizens of a given country... must also fight and risk their lives for freedom. We did it here with the help of France, and now people around the world do it with the assistance of the USA and other countries, mainly those in Western Europe. Nobody usually can do it all by themselves. There are always outsiders helping.

So what is 'America' today? I would say that it is a symbol of 'liberty and justice for all'. It is something to aspire to. The reality might not be quite the same as the ideal at all times, but generally speaking, we do a pretty good job.

Also, in terms of your question, note that Americans have a desire to be left alone and not being told what to do. Our country was founded on this ideal. And we want our guns to make sure that you do leave us alone, lol. When I travel, I go from a country where I might be shot to a country where I might just be robbed. Think I will visit you soon, lol.

Our philosophy all started with the Revolution and ideas of 'no taxation without representation' and 'don't tread on me'. It moved onto President Washington's philosophy of avoid any foreign entanglements. Then, it was represented by President Monroe's 'doctrine' that basically said 'Hey. You stay in your hemisphere, and we'll stay in ours.' After that, you had World War I where we were late to the party. Then, you had the League of Nations, which, while founded by President Wilson was rejected by the Congress of the U.S. And finally, you had World War II where, once again, we were late to the party. You see, for the most part, our whole history until after World War II was trying to stay out of things, mind our own business, and be left alone. It isn't about being anti anything except getting involved or being told what to do.

What happened after World War II? Simple. The stakes got higher, and we no longer could mind our own business. We were in a nuclear age and were up against an 'enemy' in the Soviet Union which had a philosophy of spreading communism throughout the world, which is clearly in conflict with our view of freedom. So what did we do? We decided to spread democracy throughout the world, and we haven't stopped, nor will we. The stakes are still too high, especially now that we have a world with not just nuclear weapons but terrorism too. The philosophy is simple: if people are free then they will be our friends so they won't want to hurt; therefore, they're going to be free whether they like it or not.

But we do not do it all alone. Again, other countries help and so do the citizens on the ground. Just look at the pictures from Egypt. But we are still there. We are always there. The Egyptian army, for example, has very strong ties to the United States.

We are the symbol of democracy and freedom. And we are the most powerful country in the world. It does NOT mean we are the best, just the most influential.

I laugh at the posts a few years back when people thought the U.S. economy was going down the drain and China was going to take over the world. Anyone like to revisit those notions? How's Europe doing? And China is having its issues too. And trust me, if the USA goes down the drain the rest of you are soon to follow so make sure you pray for us even if at times you resent our influence, lol.

And by the way, never think that the average American wants to tell the rest of the world what to do. We really do not care. We do not even need your oil any more, or at least soon won't. The main issue is terrorism in a nuclear age. That's the true reason we care, but that is about self-preservation, not about worrying who is free and who is not.

And I don't care where you live, we all have a stake in this fight. The USA could back away from having our soldiers on what some terrorists view as 'holy ground' and divorce itself from influence in other countries, and the world would be left with a bunch of insane people with nuclear weapons. You really want to risk that situation? Sorry, but we're all stuck with each other.

So, on this birthday of America, be happy we're still here. Don't love us if you do not want, but at least tolerate us and be grateful for what we have done. Many of you, particularly many hosts, would not have the freedoms you have right now if it was not for American efforts combined with a few other main players in Europe, and let's not forget Canada and Australia too. And respect the sacrifices that not just the American taxpayer has made for you, but what the American soldier has done for you as well.

Nobody gives you freedom. You pay for it with money and unfortunately, with blood, too. To think about the courage that those British subjects must have had a few hundred years ago to fight for their rights is truly humbling. And we see the same fights in Africa and the Middle East today. This is what America is now. A symbol of having the courage to fight that fight for freedom for all. The reality may sometimes differ, but the ideal will never change.

But we're not better than you are. We were just lucky. We grew up far away from everyone. We didn't grow up with hundreds of years of ethnic tensions dividing us. We have one overriding culture, namely a passion to be free. We, for the most part, have one language. And we were fortunate enough to have a few extremely intelligent men draw up a Constitution that continues to do the job, generally speaking.

What does Europe have, for example? A history of nobody getting along and many different cultures and languages, sometimes within just one country. Everyone thinks differently. How are you supposed to be a united E.U. in that type of situation? We aren't anti-European. If anything, Europeans are anti-European, lol.

The USA started in a similar way for a few years. We were 'states' which means we were individual 'countries' in a manner of speaking with a very loose connection. That didn't work so within a few years we formed a much stronger union with our Constitution. You should know this if you studied our Constitution.

How does our Constitution that you studied start? 'We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America'.

We just wanted to be free and have a better life, and we didn't have the encumbrances of a history of conflicts among ourselves and threats from the outside to get in our way. That's why we are strong and united. After the Revolution, we had one major war with England and the Canadian border was drawn, and we had one major war with Mexico and the Mexican border was drawn. That was it. Compare that to Europe and other places around the world, lol. You guys get a final map yet? lol.

There really is no American culture like there is in other countries. The USA is just a bunch of people wanting to be free and able to make a better life for themselves. That's why we had a revolution. That is why we pledge allegiance to our flag and our national anthem is a tribute to it. Our flag stands for freedom! And we are so different and from so many backgrounds that there isn't any way for little pockets to start forming and battling one another to ruin everything. We might be a diverse people in our homes, but we are united by our desire to be free and to be left alone without anything strong enough to divide us.

That is our culture and we are proud of it. We rally around our flag since it is a symbol of the ideal that most people all over want more than anything... namely, a desire to be free. That is what we stand for. And we are damn lucky to be living here and enjoying the sacrifices of those that came before us.

That is America.

Thanks for all the trouble you went to. I envy you the passion you have for your country.

In the UK, Scotland may be leaving the union. Also, we native English feel we've lost our identity, e.g. I must put White Britsh as my ethnicity, I can't just say I'm English. The EU does most of the governance that matters. In my home town London, the English are now a minority.

My generation feel it's a case of sins of the fathers...., i.e. we inherited a collapsed empire and now pay for all its failures. Maybe the UK should be dissolved and England should be independent and apply to be yet another EU client state.

Yes, USA must prevail for everybody's sake. God bless Uncle Sam.

I hold it true, whate'er befall;

'Tis better to have loved and lost
Than never to have loved at all.
~Alfred, Lord Tennyson

If you care, and if you live long enough, your heart will be broken many times, and in the end you may not have time to heal. Nevertheless you risk that heartache, because love is the highest and fullest expression of life, and you make a habit of loving, because it will carry you through to the end of your days.

Anyway I think so.

RE: Instructions: Just some of my advice -how to heal a broken heart

Grief is a process to go through. In a process, you keep putting one foot in front of the other, and each little step is part of your healing.
Define your real intentions, are you trying to move past the breakup, or are you hoping to get back with your ex partner? You won't move on until you've accepted that the relationship is over. Don't embarrass yourself or put yourself in a situation where you'll look back and feel humiliated. Learn to trust again, whenever you get involved in a relationship, you know there's a risk. Don't let a bad experience keep you from living your life to the fullest. You can go through life suspicious, or loving and laughing.

There is not much you can DO to heal a broken heart. In my experience, it just takes time. As much as it hurts right now, it does get better eventually.

And always remember: if someone hurts you, that person is not worth being sad about.

When we love, if we we love, we give something of ourselves to that person. That is not to say you necessarily diminish your love, rather that you swap out part of your heart with someone or something else. What is true is that every person we meet, interact with and care about changes us in one way or another. How deep that change goes is proportional to how important those people are to you. The more important they are the deeper the hole is when they are gone. Of course, sometimes we don't really how deep the hole is until they are gone, but then again, nobody is perfect , are they?

How to heal the hole is simpler than most people realise. It is not about stuffing an odd shaped piece of someone else to fill the gap rather it is about your growing a new piece of yourself to fill the gap. As such you need to look at things with a clear perspective, don't dwell only on the bad, dwell on the good in your life as well. Ultimately though realise that although love hurts sometimes, love heals eventually.

Look to the support of your friends or family as much as they look to you for support when things in their lives go wrong.

Ultimately though, move on with your life. You don't need to look back until you are sure you are looking forward first..

My advice is don't go off the rails. Heavy drinking or promiscuous behaviour is unlikely to improve your mood or feelings of self worth. Times change, and maybe better times are on the horizon.

You'll meet someone else with whom you'll have happy times and a good relationship.

On the other hand, maybe you are being hasty. If you think you can still salvage your broken relationship and it's worth saving, then maybe you should try. Although, as someone wrote, don't humiliate yourself, there's no point in letting false pride deter you either. If the other party is making a big effort to repair the damage to your relationship and fix what is wrong, then maybe you could meet them half way.

Whatever you decide, stay strong, learn from the experience, and better times are sure to follow.

Ha ha, yes, but with one main ground rule: "Unsolicited Advice is STRICTLY FORBIDDEN!"
The rule would be there in order not to create any confusions, since people who give unsolicited advice often are:
*In great need of feeling needed.
*Helpless.
*Narcissists.
*Trying to establish their dominance.
*Judgemental, hence passing judgement in the form of "free advice".
*Big suckers for drama.

There's also those who give free, unsolicited advice out of the pure kindness of their extremely altruistic hearts.
Maybe they're trying to be friendly; Maybe they have been through traumatizing experiences, and they are giving free advice so that complete strangers over the internet, with whom they are completely unrelated to, will learn a life lesson and so, they will avoid swimming through a sea of sadness and sorrow, which will lead to the Greater Good, Illumination and Enlightenment, save the baby seals and panda bears, and finally the Planet!
But then again, those pathological altruists would not refer to their free advice as "INSTRUCTIONS".

Ladies: Instructions How to Get the Man of Your Dreams

1. Confidence is one of the biggest factors that turns a man onto a woman. This does not mean over-confidence, but enough confidence to laugh at yourself and feel worthy of a man's love.
2. Women that smell good. Find a scent that works for you, but ask your male friends how they like the way you smell.
3. It is important to be yourself. If a guy does not like you for who you are, than he is not worth it. When you first get to know someone, everybody likes to put their best foot forward. Given time, you will find that both of you are much different from what you originally thought.
4. Nice-guys-finish-last- seems to be a trend with women. We want the man that is mysterious and hard to pinpoint, but will this man be good for you in the future? Probably not!. Nice-guys tend to want to stay in the long-run. They may be boring sometimes, but they will stick by your side through the bad times and the good.
5. and the most important is: Don't judge a book by its cover. Yah, the guy might look a bit geeky or he might be wearing the wrong pair of glasses, but this doesn't mean you should dismiss him. There are quite a few men out there that may not look so hot, but are fun loving and carefree.

{now you just read a few instructions from TheMaskMan-good luck girls)

This just sounds like a spin on all that PUA stuff, which is just horrible to me. I am not an expert, by any means, but I would never presume to advise a woman how to behave.

You can only know yourself and that's hard enough. From a guy's perspective, I think you just have to get out of your own head and listen to what she has to say. Otherwise you don't know what her dreams are, and how they may fit into yours.

Then allow the mysteries of the heart to do their thing.

RE: Ladies: Instructions How to Get the Man of Your Dreams

No offense but this sounds like a random column of a random "Women's Magazine" written by people who know close to nothing about what women want and how they're wired, aka men.
Also, it's a projection of the type of Woman you personally find appealing, and that's fine but you make her sound sort of bipolar.
No truly self confident Woman would ever ask for perfume advice from a man unless she has some bizarre mood swings that get her from (over)confident to insecure.

RE: pole dance shows

I don't know what you are talking about when you say "I just making a point on what you said previously."? That wasn't me.

My experience with IA hosts in comm chat is that they usually don't stay there long. Maybe they're not really interested in chatting, wherever that might be? A point that has been made several times already, so I hope you understand this by now.

And you have a nice day as well.

looking for help and information

I was looking for a girl that I spent a lot of time with and really would like to find her once more. Im not shure what happened to her and if any one knows what maybe happened would be great.
She goes by Thalia and TooExclusive also went be LoveCaty sometime ago

Very pretty girl. I hope her departure means she found a good situation. When a host leaves and gives no contact information, I think it's best to assume she wishes not to be bothered and to respect that wish.

yes that is understandable i was more looking for if she just has switched her name here on cc?

Have you ever.....

Has anyone ever heard a host (or a member) fart on cam when he or she didn't realize the cam was on? If so, did you tell the other person or did you just pretend it never happened?

Personally, I never heard anybody let one rip. So the hosts that know me have nothing to worry about. If anybody ever heard me fart,........well, my apologies and thanks for playing it off!

RE: Have you ever.....

Yes, once. It was quite obvious but accidental. She was visibly embarrassed, knowing I heard it. But I just said, "Oh wow! Your stomach is growling for some food." "Yes," she said, and we went on. But oh, boy! was I glad I was not on the other side of the cam!

Question

I have been on CC for (ahem)...a couple of years and i always wondered why the vast majority of hosts are from Russia or Romania. What is it about these countries? I know there are a few from UK, US and from philippines, but where are the French, German, Lithuanians, Bulgarians...and all the other countries? Is it something to do with CC, the law or just that these girls are the most savvy?

The Girls, well... The Girls might be right, it's very possible, yes.
But you can't be certain until going through the Standard Fagalicious-Freak Three Step Detection Program. It's a rather straight (pun intended) forward process which includes pink panties, a big black cockasaurus and a special bookstore.
Good luck!

RE: Revisiting old hosts

I agree, that was a rather cold-hearted comment. Prada? expensive shoes, fashionable clothes, fancy handbags?

I had a chathost friend who left two years ago; I am glad her profile is still here. Not that I need to see her pics, nor do I have any hope that she will return. But over the course of two years we got to understand each other very well. We got too close, actually, and could not continue contact after she decided she needed to leave CC.

So, yes, the runway is filled with this year's models, showing off this year's fashions. I still miss my friend.

I have some old favorites that haven't been here since 2007, even older ones on another account. Nice to remember some good times from back then.

RE: Revisiting old hosts - Epi and Yana

Have to admit, I really miss Solitary Soul. Epi, come back to us! But it is good to see that Yana (Pure Miracle) comes back from time to time.

Reply

RE: Revisiting old hosts

yes looking back on old friends is a good thing and some that we really do miss then I would say I really do miss Thalia / Tooexclusive also VanilaGirl / RealJam . would some one happen to know what has happened to them maybe?

Reply

RE: Revisiting old hosts

I still look visit old profiles. Even after creating a new profile (because I forgot the old one's password) I added all the old profiles to my favs just to have them close though I know they'll never get a more recent date next to their name. However, Life goes on and the new chathosts I've met keep me just as happy :)

World Record

May 2000-Guinness World Record a woman had 462 piercing with 192 in her face alone; by August 2001 when she was re-examined she was found to have 720 piercing. Performing at the Edinburgh Festival in 2005, the Guardian reported that she now had 3,920 body piercing. Was wondering how many where clit rings. Do you know of any strange or weird records.

I also find the names around here a minor amusement. For a host it is a first introduction...a first banner of advertisement really. For members it may be indicative of what they are into....such as names with sub or dom in it. For me...it is something i can remember easily and has not already been taken. Another question I have is...how many of us have multiple screen names? My guess is many.

mmm, mine I invented it in ancient Greek: filios means friend of/admirer of, and ero refers to Erotics. So in total it should mean admirer of erotica. Almost the same as Porndisciple ;-) , but in a softer way.

RE: what made you decide too....

After being naive on another site and sending money to a host and getting absolutely no response from her I decided it would not happen again and chose this name for this site.

I do have many other names though. Primarily because of the very first competition where you could vote for the host per visit per day per name.
