June was the hottest on record for the Northern Hemisphere, data for July is not out yet. This was due to the weather phenomenon called "el nino". El nino has passed and "la nina" has settled in and is supposed to bring cooler temperatures but stronger storms this hurricane season.

It isn't just El Nino. We've had El Nino in other years. There are other factors this time. Over the next few years, we shall see if we've reached the tipping point where we're past the point of no return in terms of global warming. Hopefully, this year is just an exception in terms of the extreme heat. The weather where I am in the USA is hotter than average this summer and we've broken some records, but it hasn't hit the point yet where we're breaking records all the time. When that happens over a few years, it probably means it is too late and global warming won't be able to be reversed.

Why does it bother people so much if a host only comes here during contests? Hosts can work as much or as little as they want. That is one of the benefits of being a host.
If she can wait for a time when there is a lot of pent up demand, and she has a collection of money slaves, more power to her. That's smart business.

It doesn't matter. This site is a fine example of the Free Enterprise system. Supply =Woman+Price+show Demand= Us dudes/gals who are willing to pay. Supply of women and demand for them dictates who's here and what they charge. Woman will vary their price if Supply of ladies is higher than demand for their services. If a woman chooses to come on at certain times and she benefits through a contest or us schmucks paying then Hey! it is smart business on their part. There are no barriers here to enter the market so therefore this shit should be taught in Econ 101. It's beautiful...

well, 1, 3, 5, 7 are just plain not true. Some of the worst stallers, are TS. I've been asked for my cam many times (I don't use one), some of the highest priced hosts I've seen are TS -- after all, why not? they do have that little something extra (okay, sometimes that big something extra). I know your post was meant to be funny so please forgive me for taking it literal:) but you might want to add two other Top Reasons -- They never have PMS, and never refuse to do a show because of that "monthly visit"

yea just seeing how much $$ some guys are willing to pour out over a few popular hosts makes me feel sad for the other hosts, money always goes to money. My mathes aren't great but when i see some hosts have scored over 100,000 points in one day alone and i try to work out how much that must be in $$ well...some hosts must be making a fortune and i don't believe it's because their soooo much better hosts than others, just wish this world (cc included) was a fairer place and the wealth was spread around more evenly.

For a host to achieve 100,000 points members spent a total of around $1000 - $1500.

If you do things the right way (I will leave it at that), the host cooperates with her price by making it very low, and got really lucky, you could theoretically spend as little as $300 to get 100,000 points, although this is very, very, very unlikely. It is more likely that you would spend at least $400 and probably closer to $500 with her cooperation if using a good strategy. Without the host changing price and charging closer to $2,00/min, the might cost be closer to $650 to $750. But employing the proper strategy would definitely prevent the need for spending $1000 or more. Plus, there is no reason to do it. Spending no more than $500 and using the right strategy can almost guarantee #2 or #3 in points based on what I"ve seen, and it might only take $300 or so to get #2 or #3.

The host's price will affect the time taken to accumulate the points but not the amount spent. You got a letter or a guess for every $5.00 spent. I have rechecked my own, quick calculation and am now feel i underestimated the expenditure. i agree that if a member wishes to maximise his chances of winning for the minimum expenditure he should not blindly follow the macho urge to be no. 1.

You are obivously correct about the $5,00 per letter or per guess. But without getting into strategy, all I will say is that if I wanted to, I could usually make sure I got at least 1500 points each time for no more than $7,50 on average with the host helping me in various ways. That would mean if I was going for 100,000 points and employing this strategy, it would cost me about $500. It could be a little more or a little less, but anyway, getting one or two extra tickets isn't worth it anyway so spending closer to $300 and maybe getting #2 or #3 made more sense. Actually, depending on the day, I could get #2 or #3 for not much more than $200, but it wasn't my focus so I didn't try every day to do that. And even taking worse case scenarios and using a good strategy, it would cost no more than $350 to get around 40,000 points which would probably get you in the top 5, if not the top 3, most days.
Without saying more to explain everything, for all you know I am pulling numbers out of my butt, lol, but it is not as expensive as you think to win a word contest if the proper strategy is employed. And I was talking about the top 3 or top 5. You could get top 10 or top 15 for a lot less and still had a good chance at a big prize. This was all for members, by the way. I agree your math is valid based on the strategy you outline but I am sceptical about your sucess rate. You have to spend 5.00 just to get a guess at a word/phrase. You expect to average $7.50 expenditure for each guess which means on average you expect you get 50pct of the words without any letter and the other 50pct after just 1 letter clue. Unless you or the host are shakespearean actors I find that hard to believe.

However good the list you are going to guess wrong sometimes with no letters or only one. Not every word or phrase scored 1500 even if you got it correct first time. I understand the strategy. I just don't accept that the $7.50 per 1500 point average could be sustained long term.

why do you feel bad for any hosts at all? they are making 3x the average wage in their country and they aren't doing it by digging ditches or sewing in a sweatshop, they are doing it sitting in front of a computer for few hours. nice work if you can get it

I never heard or saw so much drama as during this contest. Some of it didn't involve me and some did through no fault of my own in my view. I don't know what the answer is except to try to stay away like I had intended to but unfortunately did not. I have one idea that might get me to play a contest again, depending upon the situation, but after my experiences this contest, I think I may just choose to stay away. It was entertaining at times, but too much like a soap opera... and once you become a character in the show too, it is probably best to stay away.

Obviously any host that is charging $5,00/minute most of the time, getting lots of video, and is keeping track of the clues has an advantage over others. But ultimately, being number 1 is about ego. It is just one more ticket. There are smarter ways to play this contest than just going for the top. Besides, after the day is over, nobody sees who had the most points anyway. The real winners are the hosts with the most money (video plus prizes) at the end of the day. 1 versus 2 is not a big deal.

Hmmmmm. I wouldn't expect the top 10 point getters for hosts and members automatically to get the 10 prizes, but it seems a little strange that a fairly low percent of the top 10 are winning prizes this contest compared to others. Just found it interesting.

But what I am seeing is that sometimes the top 3 point getters are not winning a top 3 prize. That would be 147 tickets. That gives the 3 of them a total chance of winning the top prize at 11,5%. That then leaves 1274 tickets if none of the 3 win and still 147 chances which means 11,5% once again that one of them gets prize #2. And then for prize #3, 147 tickets out of 1273 gives us once again 11,5% that one of them wins prize #3 if none of them won prize 1 or 2.

This is not my thing either, but I think that last bit is flawed. Adding the probabilities is not the way to look at this. Instead, if you add the number of top 3 chances over the 3 prizes (147+147+147=441), divided by the total number of chances (1275+1274+1273=3,822), you get 11.70%. The chance that a top 3 host would win a top 3 prize is really not that large.
I guess you can find some solace in this if you realize going in that your chances of winning one of the big prizes are small even if you place #1.
Just enjoy the game and the company you keep, stay calm, get your rest, and walk away if you need to.

Here, if my math is right, we have three negative outcomes, each with an 88,5% chance of occurring. (100% - 11,5%). Multiplying them together, gives us a 69,3%. Maybe 69,3% is the chance that none of the top 3 point getters will get a top 3 prize.

To compare the prize results for the top 10 points scorers with the rest is meaningless. The difference between the probablities of no. 10 winning a prize and no. 11, or even no. 15 is very small. What one woulexpect is that, over the 5 days, siginificantly more winners would come from the top ten points scorers than the bottom 10.

For me, it is like gambling. You need to know when to walk away, at least as a member. I won a pretty big prize. I was happy. Last time I won a big prize in a similar contest, I tried using it to my advantage since it didn't cost me any money to compete the next day. The result? No prize the next day and I spent my entire prize, lol. This time, I decide to be smart. Decided to spend only part of my prize the next day. Spent 35% of it instead of 100%. No prize the next day, but at least this time I have 65% of the prize left for AFTER the contest. I won't be participating any more. In fact, if it wasn't for a few host friends that were really good at getting points, I would have never even played this contest, but I saw that I could get a lot of points fast for a relatively low cost so it seemed worth the gamble.
What makes me very upset though is that the main reason I won a prize is that these hosts helped me get a lot of points and so I went back to their room with my winnings to help them get points. (By the way, I posted the "ever notice" post and practice what i preach... nice to see more hosts and members are sharing than I had thought.) Between the hosts that helped me the two days I competed a lot, they won very little even though they had a lot of points. Fortunately, one of my other friends that I was helping won a big prize, but she wasn't the one that helped me get a lot of points. It was a few others and they walked away with almost nothing. I guess they got a lot of video, but it would have been nice to see them win after they helped me so much.

Whilst I appreciate that English presumably isn't your first language, I really do think that the use of words like "pain" and "grief" is far too melodramatic for the context. I am sure if you take a walk around the streets you will see genuine pain and grief, and it won't take the form of people not winning a prize in a competition.

Don't even worry about that. I enjoyed your post very much, and your choice of words made it more interesting. I like very much to see people from other languages use creative ways to express their feelings with the english words that they do know. i find it very refreshing.

I think many hosts and members are in your shoes and feel they have been taken advantage of and work so hard. The chance of winning is simple probability and statistics and not something against you. If you feel it is maybe you just need to relax some take a break from this and go for some english classes (haha... :) Couldn't resist. If you're in the top 50 all 5 days it increases your chances of getting one prize, so look forward to you being back on here pissed even more if you miss and if do get one then I look for you to apologize and give me a free show since I was right and you were wrong :)

Ever notice....
... that when a member wins a contest, hosts start to come to him to play with them, but when a host wins a contest, she usually doesn't return the favor by giving him free video or maybe even sending him a check in the mail? And this goes for hosts that the member didn't play much, or even at all, with. For example, a member could win and a friend that he didn't visit when he won will want him to now visit her. Well, fine.... If a host wins without a member's help but she is friends with that member, shouldn't she then still give him a free show or send him money? Isn't this fair too? Don't true friends, be them hosts or members, naturally want to share their good fortune?
Therefore, let's accept that members who are friends with hosts should try to always visit their host friends once they win a contest, and preferably during the contest too before they win. BUT the same should be true for hosts. contests are marketing tools for site...they serve to motivate hosts to work longer and give hosts something to do in pvt besides perform. I have chosen to play sometimes because special girl wanted to play...asking someone in that circumstance to perform for free would seem to undermine that relationship...if i was playing with a girl who was not so special to...as a business arrangement...i would set the rules before starting the game. Just my 2 cents

Since they are not allowed to chat in video, they can't be included in contest unless viewer desires to include them? And why would any viewer go to IA to chat?

I visited Crystalline in Instant Action. (Sometimes she is in Not So Shy, but if a guy wants a show, ultimately you would have the same issue after a few minutes.) She did her show and at the same time I was clicking letters. Always good to be able to multitask, lol. I also think that once again, you can wait and click letters at the end, contrary to a post awhile back.
Anyway, she did her show and then we figured out the clue together. Further, she didn't try to say anything like "Let's play the contest." She never mentioned it until I did. She stayed within the rules and waited for me to start talking about the contest and solving the puzzle.
Also note that some members don't ask for shows from hosts regardless of the category. The only problem would be if a second guy entered not so shy or instant action and just wanted a show while the first guy and the host were doing the contest. That could cause a problem since there is no rule that says giving priority to the first guy in video is okay. There are only rules that say that if a guy wants nudity, the host needs to strip so it would seem that nudity triumphs over chatting and contests, lol, for not so shy and instant action. Host can give passwords or the guy can go 121 to avoid any problems by the way.
I guess all is okay in the world.... Nudity always wins!!!

Its rather unlikely that would happen. The way the contests are structured the non adult and softcore hosts have a huge advantage as chatting and game playing are there strong suit.

It might be the case that a guy is more likely to want a show as one moves from glamour to instant action, but once again, guys will just chat with hosts regardless of the category. And I agree, that means that instant action hosts might be at a disadvantage in some ways but that all depends on the member. If he is spending $1,70/min or more and in a video for 20 mintues, he might as well turn some letters anyway if he is playing the contest. And if he is not playing the contest, then it really doesn't matter what category the host is in and maybe the IA host has an advantage since a guy who wants to avoid contests will just go to see her do her thing and if she says she wants to play the contest, he can just say, sorry, I am here for a show, leaving her no choice. In the end, IA hosts may attract the guys avoiding contests so maybe they benefit too. (sorry about the run on sentence,,, just lazy)

By the way, you might notice IA hosts cannot play hi-lo since a delayed strip obviously is contrary to the idea of "instant". But once again, plenty of members will just chat with IA hosts. They are people too.

Casa, thanks for u mentioned us.:D That made me smile. I dont post here much but i had to now. I am in IA many years already since i worked in the studio. That time i didnt care much where i am. After i tryed some other categories been in not so shy a little shy but i decided IA is fine for me and i am there so long and have many regulars there. I like to show off my body and still i have plenty of good friends too since i started on CC in IA and still haveing new there. I just wanted to say that some guys dont care about category much once they find some girl interesting to them they want to know her lil more. Its allowed to talk there. Sure if guy says \"hey, show\" i easully show. But if guy wants to talk and asks me what i like to do in real life for example i dont strip my lingerie off:D we easully keep talking :).... But its my opinion only.<br />

The forums allow for us to discuss the good and the bad. Sometimes there may seem more bad than good, but that is the case with most businesses. Usually, a business will hear more from those that are unhappy than those that are satisfied and the forums are no different. It is "human nature". Nevertheless, if the negative statements are phrased in a constructive manner, and if they are truthful, I see no problem with them. In fact, it allows for postive change.
In terms of jealousy, that too is human nature, but unless you want to do away with the forums, I have no idea how to keep personal feelings out of things here, or any place else for that matter. You can call upon people to be objective and mature, but that isn't always going to happen. And even if a negative point is overstated because of personal feelings, that doesn't mean that the underlying point of the comment is not true.
Finally, in terms of contests, I have won a few times, but I still could give you a list of problems that I have with the contests. Unfortunately, I don't really see an ideal way to do things so it comes down to having contests that are not perfect or not having any contests. CC is a business, and given that there are contests, they would seem to have decided that overall contests are a good thing. Further, nobody is forcing any host or member to participate. I think a more interesting observation, from which readers can draw their own conclusions, is that at noon today (UK time), 12 hours into the new day's competition, only 46 hosts from all the hundreds (1000s?) that must have been online during that period had any points, with number 46 just on the minimum 100 points.

It is not so surprising that the morning of the middle day of the contest is quiet. There have not been more than 1000 hosts on line over that time. What is also amazing is the AxB has already amassed about as many points today as she did during the whole of Day 1.

The day ends at 00:00 CC time. I believe that is 8:00 pm New York time, 1:00 am London Time, 3:00 am Bucharest time, 4:00 am Moscow time. (When daylight savings time is over and clocks are set back, subtract one hour from the times in these cities.) Points do not carry over to the next day.

It might be more fair if you could win only one prize a day, but if you don't allow people to win on certain days, why would they play that day? And if they don't play, that means less money for CC and for hosts.
Your real complaint is that some members have more money than others and some hosts are more popular at contest time than others. Such is life.
By the way, I believe that the top three point getters yesterday won a total of only $200 between them so everybody has a chance.

top 3 point getters for hosts that is... only one won prizes and that was $200 total. I think two of the top three members got a prize, but do you really want to do something that would discourage a member from playing or keep a popular host from working? That would make no sense from a business standpoint.
