This is not about beliefs. We all deserve to belief in something to get us through in life. Some need it more than others and others might not, but its like the old saying: Practice what you preach. A belief usually obeys to a religion that molds a behaviour in its followers and we betray ourselves when we act different to our religion's principles. It even creates mind conflicts when our desire to act differently kicks in. This is exactly why I am free and dont follow any religion or belief and enjoy CC without a problem and I dont have regrets of what i do or what i once did :-P

My personal thoughts on that is if you know it is a fantasy that a member is indulging then fine and well to tell him what he is wanting to hear. But if the member cannot distinguish fantasy from reality, or if he really believes your story, then it is wrong for you to tell him what he hears. You are no better than a used car salesman who is lying about the car in order to make a sale. I think honesty is best, as I think it must be very hard to tell if it is just a person's playful fantasy or his real-life expectations. Of course, being honest doesn't mean you have to give every detail of your life, but it does mean not promising love when there is no love, or a possible real-life relationship when there is no such possibility. Personally, hosts who play to a person's mistaken expectations, while they may be making money, are despicable deceitful persons. The rules for chathosts, I believe, are that you are not to lie to your customers, promising things that are not so. Isn't that right?

What I'm trying to say is that Hosts who intentionally mislead a viewer into thinking there is a relationship when there is none, are doing a very wrong thing just to make money. Playing with a person's heart and feelings is bad. If he knows it is all just a fantasy, okay, but it appears that there are quite a few who truly believe the lie. Yes, they are wrong to be so gullible, but so is the host for taking advantage of it.

Well, I would add, that there certainly are members who come in here expecting the wrong thing, and setting themselves up for hurt and maybe worse. Whether or not hosts will meet a member is really not what this site is about. it is about virtual relationship, fantasy-enjoyment, and pleasure. When we take it to what it is not really intended to be, that is a dating site (and yes, I know that Make New Friends and Long Term Relationship acknowledges that as a purpose -- but still this is not first and foremost a dating site) then a person is setting himself up for problems. The sad thing is, there are lonely people who are in bad or unfulfilling relationships in real life, who "latch on to" a host's affections and attentions and interpret it as "love", when maybe 99.9% of the time it is business.

Believe me she likes you too. There are not many guys here who can be so tender and considering and are genuinly interested in us. I remember some guests I met here 4 or 5 years ago. Some (a few) people differ so much from the rude, disappointed mainstream. They just have something. It is like magic and you don't believe it can be real. Maybe that's why she is protecting her heart. If we truly believe in magic- the fall back to earth can be very hard. But believe me I sometimes regret I have not met one of those few special guys...

I’m so sorry that you get hurt, if you ask me; you should go and talk with her, clear the situation. Maybe she had a good reason to tell you those lies. The fact that she works on other sites has nothing to do with you; she’s just trying to earn her living. Maybe she once was hurt, like you now or maybe you are just a paycheck, she is the only one who knows for sure the truth, we only can speculate. No offence INYF but Balderdash. The chance of this working out for Broken Hearted is probably less than the chance of him winning $20 million in the lottery. If he pursues this he'll almost certainly just stretch out his heartache and financial loss.
