I was also decieved by a host who told me she was my long lost mother. I suppose the fact that I am in my 40's and she was only 21 should have made me suspicious but when your desparate you believe anything.

You are not the only one 'sad soul' who has been through this, believe me! Similar thing happened to me 3 yrs ago on another site. Met a Romanian girl who I was just crazy about! Talked to her on the phone, sent her a little money (without her request) cause I felt sorry for her, and chatted all the time online, not always via the website. One day 'out of the blue' I couldn't make contact with her by phone or the internet. Letters were sent to her 'so called' address, but I never got a response. i typed these words a few weeks ago to what the response would be.i can see, after seeing all the comments that i touched the subject well. i have sent over much money to many friends in RO and with no regrets; but a few. ive bought cars, flowers and about 30,000 usd in wu also ,not counting the fact that i spend about 4,000 usd a month at cc.so ive had a chance to meet and talk to many from here, and have heard alot of stories sad and true and sometimes not.but im always glad to help as many as i can.....for i know the country well in RO......and do know that these girls work hard and it's all about survival in a desperately poor country. i wish u all well and may all the dreams come true for u all over there too.

She clearly said her "friend" does not brag about it in forums. I don't see that the orginal poster commtted a major breach of etiquette by posting how he spends his money. I just don't see that it was such a major solecism compared with a lot of posts here. He was not offensive and did not put anyone else down. He was just showing off. One of the good things about the CC forums is the general freedom. Even though I disagree strongly with many posts I would rather read them than have some self appointed group of "etiquette police" censoring them. The point is, it was the US, and it's so called 'coalition,' that defied the UN, that defied the UN Weapons Inspectors, and basicly defied the World, and attacked and invaded Iraq. Having made that point, is it any wonder why the US has become the most despised country in the world??? But being the only super power in the world, will it's leaders be summoned to justice? yes John I see the point in which you are trying to make, and it's an interesting point. In fairness to the UN, some of thier mandates have been successful, other's unsuccessful. Lets go back to 1990-91; I'm sure you remember Desert Shield/Desert Storm. Do you also remember there was a unanimous resolution by a majority of countries that make up the Security Council to invade Iraq, because Iraq had already invaded Kuwait, and had even sent military recon units into S.Arabia, so the possibility existed for there to be an invasion of Arabia as well? Well, then you will remember that Britain, France, maritime support from Germany, and a host of many nations got on board with the US, and thwarted Saddam's attempt to take over that region of the Middle East. Even though the US carried most of the weight, we had direct and unilateral support! This was all done through the UN..... Completely different situation compared to the US invasion of Iraq in 2003, which the US went in on it's own, without the consent of both the UN and our other allies except for the UK.

Most of you complain about the girls at cc. but it should be theem complaing about the guys.Some of the women are exceptional women. I know because my fiancee is from russia and she use to work here but not anymore. a lot of com plaints about the girls here are untrue and some guys make up stories to make them feel good and dump on them.You say some of the women ask for money when

How do you know that MOST of the men and women have silver spoons in their mouths in the U.S. Most would mean over 50% and I seriously doubt that. However, I agree that most of the Eastern European and Russian women DO have it very tough. Mostly due to the MALE dominated government and society in general. Women are 3rd class people in those societies and SHOULD be given their much due respect as far as jobs and pay. Hell, even in America, the women are paid less than men for the same jobs.

It may just be possible to live on that money in Romania if you don't live in the capital and already own a place to live. It is not possible to live in any sort of rented accommodation, even shared, on that amount. Energy /electricity costs in Romania are not so different from the West. Certainly not 10 times less.

I think op cool is full of bullshit. There is no reason to send a copy of WU paper to CC or any details of yahoo chats. CC will only act if a host asks for money or gifts in a CC video or text chat session. Of this happens to you contact them with details of the session (date and time) and they will take action. There is also no reason for a host to give the name of a relative to "cover their ass". I think it is more likely that the name given is there real name and they don't want to reveal that they lied about this earlier in the on line relationship.
