The thing is... as horrible as this story is... it has nothing to do with someone being Romanian or not. These stories are all over the world... in every country, every county, every city, every town and every village. I have been chatting with girls and guys from countries all over the world for years now. Some I have met in real and some just online... sure a few have asked for things... but most have not. Well my story was pure truth, starting almost 3 years ago when I didn't even know CC existed. Only last year was the bite put on me to help with a genuine medical condition, and as a friend (which I thought I was) I agreed. It was on my last visit that it became clear the money hadn't been used for the purpose intended. I could have coped with that if it hadn't also become clear that it was part of a bigger scheme, and she was even deceiving her new BF who I got on with and thought was very good for her. Having visited former communist countries I can understand that there's still an attitude there that to deceive someone is an achievement, rather than a bad thing as we usually perceive it in the west, so it just seems more common with FSU operatives.
I see from other posts that you don't like any reference to prostitutes or call-girls, but your arguments are pure sophistry to avoid reality. As I had said… there is no way for me to say it is true or false… just that I find it hard to believe when people (not just you) hide ones identity. I am one of the ones who said about identifying yourself. I can actually understand… the feeling of being embarrassed. If you are meeting a girl there then my advice is to get her to meet you at the airport and let her sort out the transport to hotel. Most good quality hotels will have English speaking staff. I have just returned from Kiev and had no problems. Just enjoy the fantasy.

I went there a couple of months ago last year. My advice is to get the girl to wait for you at the airport. There are taxis at the airport, however not all speak good english and some don't even understand anything. The signs are all in russian language. There is absolutely no way you would get around by yourself if you never went there before. Sometimes even at the Plaza Hotel you'll be lucky if you find english speaking people when you need one. Your girl better be good to you otherwise you'll be lost without a clue. Sadly Dreamer, no direct flights from UK to Rostov on Don, either Austiran via vienna, Aeroflot via Moscow or Lufthansa via Frankfurt, im sure there are other charters but those are the most widely avaiable. Also check with the embassy regarding your visa first before booking the flight because Rostov on don is a "restricted" area and it may take longer than advertised to get visa.

Dreamer, i visited Rostov in Aug had a great time but as suggested you are better off being accompanied at all times. Flights, i changed at Domededvodo from BA to S7, flight is ok but be carefull of the food, i was layed up with stomach cramp for 24hrs. yes be met at the airport and be alert on your return they will stitch you up with luggage charges.Hope you have fun and enjoy as much as i did, I had a 30c hot hot hot time ;) enjoy!
