Seriously, Flower... please be careful. That goes for meeting ANYONE that you meet via the internet....not just this site. This guy could of course be the love of your life, but but the odds are higher that he is not. In any case, I really agree with the person who adviced you to take your time. Three to four months is simply not sufficient time to get to know someone. I met my love here, but we talked for almost a year and a half before I met her in person. I don't think you told us which country he is from. If we know that then maybe we can give you more information.

What to do before you meet.
1) See him on webcam at different times of day. Ask to see as many rooms in house as possible. This can show if he has wife, gf, kids, or other roomates.
2) Ask for his address to send him a card. In places like USA you can use his name and address to verify his age and other information. You can verify if he lives by beach or other place he told you.
3) Ask to see his passport. You can verfity his information and also learn where he travels.

When meeting.
1) Best to meet in public place in your country. Go first with a friend and have them take a photo of him with you. If you feel comfortable with him after then you can meet alone but make sure your friends know of your plans and you give them his information.
2) If you will meet in another country then you should learn as much about that country as you can. Where is your embassy. Have important phone numbers and enough cash if you need to leave in hurry. Of course let him know that you gave a friend his name/address and other details of your plans.

The reality is that some people are looking for love, some people are looking for sex and some people are looking for money. You won't know what they are looking for until you have a chance to know them for more than 3 months.

"Nobody" gave you very good advice. In a way he already replied on my behalf, but I'll be happy to share some points from the perspective of my gf and myself.

For starters, she knew my intentions; we'd been talking for more than a year. I had been trying to reconcile with my ex wife, but it was only when I announced I that this was all over that my gf invited me to meet her in person. So, the first step I guess, if you are looking for more than just a fling....is to make sure the guy is who he says he is. Many hosts here have found out the hard way that their "love" is already married, have kids, and are just looking for a tasty side dish.

Once I made it clear that I was no longer attached, my gf contacted me at various times, just like "nobody" suggests that you do. Sometimes, she would even call me in the middle of the night, at work and so on. It's not like I was going through an "interview" process like you do when you date someone here in the US. But at least she knew where I lived, where I worked and that I was not seeing anyone already.

Second, she made sure we both had the same expectations. Like "nobody" says, some people are just looking for sex or money. She knew that I was looking for love. We already had established a relationship online, but we knew it wasn't real until we could meet in person. Also, she made pretty damn sure that I did not have any "Plan B" in case things did not work out between her and I. Lots of guys have at least 2 or 3 girls lined up when they go overseas. I am not saying that I blame these guys....just that she knew I was not like that....I was coming to get to know HER. BTW, she showed up at the airport 1 1/2 hour late.....I actually think this was on purpose. ;P I would not recommend that you perform this "test" though, as this is the only thing she's done to me that I've never completely forgiven her for. ;)


Third, she made sure that she controlled the environment in which we met. She made me come to see her in her country. This is really important; if a guy's really into you....then he will make this effort. When we met...although she had agreed to be staying with me....she had her bag packed at a different location close by....we went to lunch in a public place before she picked up her bag. BTW, it would have been even smarter of her if she'd brought a friend....but I guess she already trusted me to some extent. I'm pretty sure that her friends' knew exactly where she was though, and who I was.

I know that this is a lot of repeat of what "nobody" and others have told you, but perhaps you appreciate a different slant. Just the fact that you're asking the question is a positive thing.....you're being smart. Just remember that not everyone out there have good intentions toward you. You don't want to end up getting "used" or possibly worse....just take your time and pay attention....sorry about the long message....good luck!!!

I certainly agree with you about Citizen Kane. I don't know Leon or Pans Labyrinth, so I can't comment. However, I altogether disagree with your pick of Ryan's Daughter as one of the "top movies of all time." I found it maudlin, a modiocre film at best. Certainly director David Lean's "The Bridge on the River Kwai" is infintiely better than his Ryan's Daughter.

While I very much liked Amelie, I would not say it qualifies as one of the top 5 movies of all time. As French films go, Carne's "Les Enfants du Paradis" or Renoir's "Grande Illusion" are better candidates.

Personally I would include "Casablanca" and the great noir classic, "The Big Sleep."

4. Pelle the Conqueror (1987). ~Max von Sydow's best performance...in my humble opinion.

5 Silence of the Lambs (1991).~Anthony Hopkins breakthrough performance. Just scared the shit out of me!

6. The Gladiator (2000). ~ Even if you don't like Russel Crowe, you've got to love this movie. I never get tired of watching it.

I'm not sure it's one of the "best movies of all times," but Tarkovsky's "The Sacrifice," is one of the most complex and intense movies I've ever seen. That said, I think one could argue that since Tarkovsky left Russia as a young man and first made movies in Italy, then principally in Sweden---where Bergman had a profound influence on him; indeed he used Bergman's cimematgrapher---Tarkovsky was not a purely Russian filmaker. "The Sacrifice"--with its Nordic angst--struck me as a Bergman-like film with a Russian soul.

Speaking of films with a multi-cultural/multi-national influence, has anyone seen Kurosawa's "Derzu Uzala?" (1975) It's radically different than any of his other films. However, my point in bringing it up is that it was produced in Russia. It's a great film.

I know you asked about Russian films since the 50's, but Eisenstein's earlier films are certainly great. I'm especially fond of "Alexander Nevsky," with a wonderful film score by Prokofiev.

Finally, does anyone know a contemporary Russian film with a name something like, "The Barber from [Siberia?...?] I'm afraid that's all I can remember. I don't know the director's name.

I am betting you are here because you experience the same kind of results in real life with women. It's not unusual, in fact it is a very common behavior among "nice guys". The problem is not with the women, but with yourself. Yes it's spring so I think detox would be useful for everyone. I read 2 books from Victoria Boutenko:the raw family and another one on green smoothies. Her whole family went raw and they experienced extraordinary well-being and fitness.They are full of energy. I agree...Love must begin with trust. If that does not exist then a true relationship will never exist. Sometimes a relationship may start with trust, but for some reason the trust is lost. When this ocurs both individuals must work to regain that trust if the relationship is to continue. If the trust can't be found again, the relationship is over. That is my opinion.

how can you secure trust with either person that is involved with this type of interaction. if you're prepared to spend the time/money/travel and thnk you can maintain a long distance affair sure it may be possible but its a maochistic endearvor in the first place instead of finding someone in your own vicinity...looks always greener on the otherside but is it really?

well dear wanda my favourite qoute is: "trust can eighter kill you or set you free"...and it is up to you who to trust or not but like a wise man has once said for most people you are not who you really are but you are only what you let others see.....so i say, it is better to have a certain degree of trust for everyone and increase it or decrease it after the relationship continues...so in that way no one can say that you have lied and if realationship is good in future it will be based on good thing

When you fall in love ... it just happens , you dont ask yourself why did it happen, when why ... but then when you have signs the other person might not be the way you thought ... you cant just let it go , some days you feel better and you think you are crazy, other days you just go crazy ... you feel there s something. You love but there are signs you trust someone you shouldnt and you need proofs . From my experience ... GO FOR IT but be careful do not be ripped off , find a good investigator. And be prepared for what you will find out, it will break your heart. Usually the instincts are right but you need the proof to be able to move on and heal your heart.

Outside of Xellex and juliane I dont think there is a legtimate nonadult host in the group. I know there are more so don't start but the majority of them will indeed bump up to Glamour or little shy or more if you want to see more than you are allowed in Nonadult which is nothing. Kind of the ultimate bait and switch tactic. The crazy part is that even in nonadult they have adult prices. Many are over 2 dollars. Amazing.
