There is not much that one can say to change or make this time any easier..all we can do is remember his smile, his laugh and hold him close to our heart.

He will be very much missed....he was a very dear and sweet man with a wonderful heart, spirit and soul....he was kind, respectful..and very caring and thoughtful...

Anyone that got to know him was very lucky...

I am sure he is now in a better place where there is no pain or hurt or anything but sunshine and happiness....

My prayers and thoughts are with u and the family through this time...he will always be in my heart for the person he was...

I have noticed that when ever someone passes on...that I have known there has always been a rainbow...I am sure that there will be a rainbow bigger and brighter, because that is the type of person he was....

I would like her to behave as if we met somewhere other than CC and were beginning a normal relationship from step one. I would like nothing from her other than the time to prove I was a good man. The truth is no one knows for sure. 30,000 scientists have signed a statement that global warming is not caused by human activity. Rather it is, they say a naturally occuring cycle of nature. I for one think there is truth on both sides. Certainly all our pollutants from cars, and factories, and other means, is not good for the environment nor our health. I believe that the major source of global warming is a normal environmental cycle in which overall temperatures grow warmer. But I also believe that we as humans are contributing to the problem, though not nearly to the extent that it has become the watchword of politicians and profiteers

Thank you obikogkenobi for the grade six science lesson. One thing though, the scientists that support global climate change theories have better than grade six education. Most of them have PhDs and most of those (97%) agree that global warming is a measured phenomenon. We are the stewards of this Earth and we owe it to our kids and to future generations to pay attention to what our scientists tell us. We don't get to use a few hacked emails, the words of a very few dissenters, or nonsensical global conspiracy theories to ignore scientists just because they tell us something we don't want to believe.

Didn't you notice the environmental jihadi's (yes it's become a religion) changed the term "global warming" to "Climate Change" - that is because for about the last 13 years we have been in a cycle of global COOLING and that fact didn't match up with some scientists greedy desires for 'research money' (yes PhD's want jobs too) or the ambitions of some self important politicians for more power and control (bigger gov't / world gov't).

Yes we are to be good stewards of the earth, nature, and the environment, however HUMANS (including those precious ones still in the womb) are more important than darter snails, elk in the artic circle, or atmospheric carbon (yes that IS Plant Food).

If every human on earth did what Al Gore commands us (but not himself) to do - it would not change something so vast as the atmosphere. (yes It pays to Go Green! The washed up Al Gore's Net Worth Jumped from $2 Million (2000) to in excess of $100 Million (2009) and he is now a Nobel Global Prophet to boot!!)

Your assertion about temperatures going down in recent years is not only misleading, it is pretty much wrong in the context in which you present it. Annual global average temperatures have both risen and fallen over the past 11 years, and while there have been some relatively cooler years during that period -- including a decline in each of the past three relative to the year before -- climate scientists reject the idea that those temperatures are any indication that global warming is slowing or does not exist. Scientists have identified a long-term warming trend spanning several decades that is independent from the normal climate variability.

The term “global warming” is still used; so is “climate change “ so that proves nothing. As for t's quote: - 1. 1800 AD is much further back than the "about 13 years of falling temperatures" that I pointed out (your comparing apples to oranges = more dishonest 'science', & it also reminds me of the 'liars figure and figures lie' quote). In fact just today on the radio I heard a news report that 'in the last 12 years the global temperatures have went down' (that means cooler for all you PhD's).

It does not take a Phd to look at temperatures & see over the last 13 years the TREND IS COOLER - in fact your favorite grade six student could see that. As for me I think the earth's climate is always changing. "Greenland" is a good example - lots of ice there now but it was lush green a while back (and the change occured long before industrialization).

2. 97% is not accurate - maybe it refers to 97% of those scientists' ancestral peers who proclaimed the earth was flat.
3. The Earth's moon and Mars have recently been noted as having similar 'climate change' - again your favorite grade six student could confirm there is no significant human activity nor SUV's on the moon or Mars. (even Al 'Moon Beam' Gore the soon to be 1st 'green billionaire' has not flown his private jet there yet). So it can be seen man-made carbon dioxide (CO2) is not the source of climate change there, something else must be happening. . . . .
3. Many organizations who are global warming profiteers get their 'false' facts from the notorious University of East Anglia's Climactic Research Unit (CRU). They are just one such organization (how many more are shredding evidence now?) caught 'cooking' the numbers to fit their profitable chicken-little 'the sky is falling' scheme. (12 of the 26 scientists who wrote the relevant section of a UN global warming report are "up to their necks in ClimateGate.")

Most of the doom and gloom 'climate changers' are stating is from computer models. These computer models are flawed, full of speculation and of course when you put false data into the computer you get false data out - that in turn fuels false predictions. 'Climate scientists' cannot accurately predict the weather 10 days from now, much less 10 years from now. Will you let "experts" think and live your life for you?

Sweden's Scientist who actually went to the artic and counted the polar bears, He reports there are 4 times more polar bears now than 40 years ago. It is true the habitat is changing - but then it is constantly changing (the ice sheet is declining on one side of the continent, but growing on the other side).

A Founder of the Weather Channel: Meteorologist John Coleman says the campaign to promote the theory of man-made global warming is "the greatest scam in history." He calls it a "manufactured crisis" by "dastardly scientists with environmental and political motives" who have "manipulated long-term scientific data to create an illusion of rapid global warming."

Among real scientists, there is a diversity of views with divergent claims. This false 'consensus' and 'the science is settled' is a phony construct of politicians, academia and media. "Your" science is now clearly suspect and needs re-verification by independent auditors who are not in the ClimateGate 'club'. Normally this would be called "theory disproved", but when trillions of dollar$ and 100,000's of careers depend on it being true, it tends to linger on.

Have you noticed a majority of those brave scientists who oppose the man-made climate change theory are older tenured scientists, or retired scientists? The younger ones are under tremendous pressure to toe the line on this ideological hoax. Obi, I find it disappointing. Scientists are human beings and human beings don't always live up to expectations. It doesn't disprove the theory though, it just shows that a few scientists MAY have become too wrapped up in the debate. We'll have wait to see what the investigation comes up with.

The preponderance of evidence supports the idea that global warming is happening and that anthropogenic emissions are a significant contributor.

The amount of CO2 from volcanoes doesn't even come close to what man produces. The sum total of all CO2 out-gassed by active volcanoes amounts to about 1/150th of anthropogenic emissions. Or, put another way, man's activities out produce volcanoes by a factor of 150 to 1.

Listen to the scientists OBI, even if you don't like what they have to say. Your kids (or future kids) will thank you for it.

Natural wetlands emit more greenhouse gases than all human activities combined. (If greenhouse warming is such a problem, why are we trying to save all the wetlands?) Geothermal activity in Yellowstone National Park emits ten times the carbon dioxide of a midsized coal-burning power plant, and volcanoes emit hundreds of times more. In fact, our atmosphere's composition is primarily the result of volcanic activity. There are about 100 active volcanoes today, mostly in remote locations, and we're living in a period of relatively low volcanic activity

Jimb33, you are talking about volcanic activity over a period of billions of years. On an annual basis, we have volcanoes beat hands down. The termite argument was debunked years ago as a smokescreen. Those CO2 emissions are already in the natural cycle and don't change the atmospheric balance of CO2. Same with wetlands. Man's activities release carbon from sources that were stashed away by nature for eons so they alter the natural balance of CO2.

I do listen to scientist, and I am one. But just like in many other fields, sometimes the voices that are heard are not the ones with the right ideas, but the ones with the popular ones.

Richard Linden is an atmospheric physicist and professor of meteorology at MIT, is a member of the national academy of Sciences and believe that humans are not responsible for global warming, yet nobody listens to his explanations because he does not agree with the political status quot. .

Dr Tim Ball is a Canadian Climatologist who disagrees with global warming and has become ostracized for those opinions, not because he has bad data or reputation, but simply because he does not agree with the conclusions supported by the current political powers.

Also consensus does not equal fact. If that is true we should be in an ice age now because in 1976 the consensus of the climate community was that the earth was cooling. The global temperature graphs then showed plummeting temperatures and the trend would have us frozen over by now. Funny how taking the same data we are now facing extreme temperature rise, because as it is plotted now there never was a lowering of temperatures between 1940 and 1980 as it was shown to be happening then.

In every field of science there are scientist who are serious about their work, and there are those who only want to be the center of attention, sadly those are the ones most people listen to.

I am all for reducing pollution because it is healthy for us. Being more efficient is a great idea because for one fossil fuels are limited and being efficient saves money. Solar energy would be a good idea, but just producing solar panels generates a huge amount of toxic pollution. Solar and wind energy are also not terribly reliable. Honestly the least polluting form of energy is nuclear, but people are so afraid of it that it may never become popular. It is good to save energy, I even dry my cloths outside as often as I can when I do laundry just to save energy. But when the government wants to tax me because if ideas based on assumptions that are not sound, and many experts disagree with( there are more expert scientist that disagree than will ever be told in the media) I really don't like it. Listening to scientist about global warming is good, but make sure you are listening to those with an unbiased opinion. As Dr Lindzen from MIT said about the debate "the consensus was reached before the research had even begun." That is not proper scientific methodology, yet since it is in line with what the politician want, it is what gets promoted.

Though man cannot possibly be the most prevalent controller of global climate change there's nothing wrong with minimizing our influence. Of course that means preventing the developing nations from jumping on the "my turn to pollute" bandwagon. Pollution is pollution. The developing nations should leapfrog the First World nations and jump ahead with wind/solar/tidal/geo-thermal in addition to developing cleaner ways to use fossil fuels.

1. This is a truly terrible advert for a host ........... and like a previous person said , leave adverts in viewers form .
2. Whatever comes of climate change talks I think you should look at the bigger picture .........
- Hopefully cutting down rain forests will be checked and hopefully reversed
- The air will be cleaner so our kids will not be as prone to illness or be asthmatic
- We will not carry on hurtling to a point where there is no oil or gas left and i for one want alternative to arab and russian oil and gas
- There will be a greener , healther world in which to bring our children up

That evidence doesn't exist. Also the total contribution of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere on a yearly basis by human activity is about 3% of the total CO2 entering the atmosphere. If humans cut their CO2 emissions in half then the total amount of CO2 emitted into the atmosphere would only drop 1.5% approximately. Of course what isn't told about greenhouse gasses is that CO2 is only a minor greenhouse gas, the major greenhouse gas is actually Water vapor.

A few years ago the big prediction was that as humans caused the earth to warm, hurricanes would become more frequent and stronger, yet for the last two years both the number and intensity have dropped. The latest NASA data also shows increasing ice caps, though most media outlets talk about the melting ice caps if you look carefully at their data it is from 2007 and earlier. Also when you look carefully at the global temperature data you will find that for different time periods there are different ways of measuring the temperatures ( a few different ways even in the last 20 years). While this doesn't turn into an Apples to Oranges comparison, it does become a red apple to yellow apple type comparison. Think of it like this, if you measure a rock with a yardstick and find it to be 1 inch in diameter, then measure it with a vernier caliper and find it to be 1.05 inches in diameter, did the rock become bigger? No, it is the same size but because your ability to measure has become more accurate you now see a more accurate measurement. The change in global temperatures over the last few hundred years is not in degrees or tens of degrees, but in hundredths to tenths of degrees( depending on who's data you look at). How accurate was a thermometer made in 1800 compared to the ones we have today? Were they calibrated to the same standard? How do temperature measurements made on the ground compare to measurements made from a satellite? What bias is there between a temperature monitoring station placed in an open field and one placed beside an asphalt parking lot? Are the number of data points used to calculate the average the same today as they were in the 1800's or even as recent as 20 years ago?

When you look closely at the data you will find it is a mixture of types of measurements from different time periods and with so much variability you can not say for sure that there is a real rise in temperatures or if is is just a difference in how it was measured.

I am not a climatologist, but I am a chemist and I do know how to look at data and evaluate its relevance to the overall project, and I have seen both good and bad data sets for and against global warming. In the work I do most of what I have seen would be rejected because of the different accuracies of measurement and non traceability of calibration data and many other things. So even if the planet is warming ever so slightly, the total fear mongering that has been going on is completely unwarranted.

Like anything in this world this ball started rolling down the hill and has been gathering pace up to where it is now ...... My view is this , for centuries man has driven himself to the rules of an economic model .......... businness , profit , growth etc. with little regard for the planet we all inhabit . The environment has always been of low polictical importance , its not a vote winner . Population growth and continued industrialisation and growth puts a greater strain on all resources and the planet . If the scare mongering of climate change leads to a significant shift in thinking toward the planet and what is happening then thats not a bad thing , because if things remained unchecked we will lose our rainforests , our air quality will be poorer , we would lose animal species and generally speaking the planet would be a lot worse off . So ignoring all climate change arguments , dont you think it would be better if we gave a bit more consideration to the planet and were a bit more thoughtful ?
I happen to agree with the climate change theories , you cannot keep pumping huge amounts of pollutants into the atmosphere without a consequence . I read a study about direct sunlight , in some parts of the world its considerably less than it was , this is caused by particulates in the atmosphere around which water would seed and so high level cloud is formed , similarly jet engines from aircraft add to this as proven by 9/11 when planes were grounded the skies were clearer and temperatures moved up . If these particulates and aircraft vapour trails were not in the atmosphere temperatures would be higher .
As regards hurricanes I think you need to look at the El Nino effect , so the US and the carribbean has done okay the last 2 years or so but if you cast your eye over to the asian side of the pacific they have seen more than their fair share of typhoons .
Its all boring stuff to a lot of people .... but it wont do humans any harm to have less selfish motivations and put some more considerate political policies on the table .

Turns out that the oceans aren't absorbing the excess carbon that we are releasing through fossil fuel burning. Turns out that plants aren't absorbing and using it either because we are deforesting and destroying ecosystems.

In other words, scientists who are qualified to offer a scientific opinion are telling us that global warming is a problem. They outnumber the dissenters by a whopping 32 to 1. The only hoax is that perpetrated by certain political and industrial lobby groups who would have us believe that there really is disagreement among climatologists.

Until a new theory comes along, I'll back the scientists who are qualified to offer an opinion.

Yes, I do hear a lot of women that are friend and that are not just asking me into video complain about Eastern European men and want nothing to do with them. And no, don't be so hard on yourself and don't be too hard on all the hosts here either. Some hosts are definitely playing games so always be careful. But it is possible that some are seriously interested in you as a person and not just a wallet or a green card.

When you are "in real life", at a bar, party, work, et cetera, it is a very different dynamic and you may not be able to feel comfortable so it is harder to be yourself. On CC, there is no pressure. There are no expectations. You can relax, be natural, and show the host who you really are as a person. If things don't work out, you simply move on to the next host until you find someone that you click with. It is sort of like speed dating.

Also remember that women are a lot less visually oriented than men. Of course everyone wants a hot partner, but women are not as demanding as men. Women want someone that is nice, that would be a good parent, that they can trust.... You know, all the things that men should want too, but we think of sex first. Plus, you are probably older than almost every host you talk to and it is refreshing to them to talk to someone that is a lot more mature than people their own age. And it seems to be much less uncommon for a woman in Eastern Europe to marry and older man than it might be in the West from what I hear.

Among them are 1) she could have a poor relationship with her father and is using you to replace him, 2) she wants to be taken care of and won't be a giving partner 3) it will be socially awkward for you to be with someone a lot younger 4) you will not have enough in common with her since you are in dfferent points in your lives. The point is, what seems perfectly fine today, might not be so good in time. But things could still work out with the right person, regardless of age.

It always comes to this: you don't marry a "Russian, " or an "American," you marry an individual with whom you hope beyond hope you can enjoy a life, a love, and a partnership together. Maybe it's harder when two individuals come from different cultures. I think if that's so it is only because it is hard enough to discern another person's inner life when they are familiar to you... perhaps it's that much harder when they are foreign.

First, don't hit your cat!!! That is cruel!! It isn't like hitting a dog (not that you should hit a dog). Cats are little and you can easily hurt them. Believe me, I have been bitten very hard by a cat a few times and wanted to kick it across the room so I know the feeling, but it is wrong to hurt an animal, especially a small one. (And no, I didn't kick it across the room.)

Second, cats are very smart and definitely trainable. But it is not like training a dog. You will need a lot more time and patience. Cats are like women... They do what they want, lol, so be patient.

In terms of the cat scratching u, I supposed u could have it declawed but that is cruel. It is like ripping out the cats fingernails. And once declawed, they are more likely to bite you. If you do declaw ur cat, I would only do it to the front claws, and I probably wouldn't do this to an older cat. And once again, I would never do it at all. It is too mean but it seems to be accepted.

In terms of training your cat not to scratch, I don't know any specific method for that particular behavior, and any type of training will take time. But showing your anger and yelling at it will be effective over time unless your cat is an idiot. Animals understand when you are not happy so your cat will understand that it should not scratch you if you are always yelling. It might even get scared and hiss at you when you yell, but 5 minutes later when you are opening a can of food it will be rubbing up against you. And when you yell at it, always use the same words... Something simple like "Bad cat!" so that when it hears those words and hears your angry tone, it knows it did something wrong and should stop.

You could spray it with water when it is bad if you are intent on physically punishing it. I guess this isn't too cruel. But don't use a fine stream like a water pistol would squirt and hit the eyes and hurt it.. just a light spray... Keep a bottle next to your bed and next to your chair. It will stop most cats pretty quickly, but you must do it immediately after it scratches you so it makes the connection. You can also yell "bad cat" too.

You could also close your bedroom door by the way, lol.

3. teaching them not to scratch WILL involve light hitting( sort of a tap) on the offending paw when they bare their claws at you. it is about the only way they learn over time that it is not acceptable behavior

I didn't hurt the cat!!! My smacking him was with a couple of fingers and was just an instant reaction to him having his claws dug into my hand. I will not have him declawed. It is a real tradgedy. I just found out that she was a close friend to a host that I have been talking to for a couple of years now. She is in shock at the news.

I just heard on the news that the people at the club didn't know about the second exit and that there was no announcement regarding it. I think that they were just told to calmly use the one exit.

In the USA, exit signs are usually illuminated (lighted) so that you can see them in the dark and so that they are obvious at all times. For example, in a movie theater, you will usually see one or two exits where the screen is and of course the entrance where you came in. I am not sure about the laws in Russia or other countries.

Again, it is very important to look for other exits in such situations. Even if there is not an obvious sign that says "exit", most businesses have a front and back entrance so there are probably at least two exits. And if you only see one, you should not be shy about asking someone about others. It is your life at stake.

Of course you need to take into account the reason for the US has regulations regarding signs etc. The tragedy at the Boston Mass club the Coconut Grove in 1942. From what i have read the problem was not primarily with the fireworks, although these may not have been suitable for indoor use, but that the material of the ceiling, and possibly in the rest of the club, was too combustible. There were clearly many secondary factors too.

Some would say Health and Safety has gone too far in Western Europe and they are probably right. If you've been to Russia, however, you'll see the total disregard for fire regulations and the safety of people in clubs and bars. So many are just blatant fire traps.

For as long as the inspection of premises works on a system of bribery/backhanders, people in Russia will continue to die in fires when they could so easily have been saved by a few basic safety measures.
