friendship always comes from attraction. It may not be sexual, but there is attraction. Common interests, ability to get along, feeling of things clicking between you, a "connection", appreciating another person's personality or "niceness" - but it all boils down to an attraction. What holds the friendship together will need to be more than simply attraction, but I seriously doubt you could or would be friends with someone with whom you weren't attracted in some way.

Well, imho this is one of the eternal question in mankind. Fact is that a man/man friendship is totally different as man/woman friendship. At a certain moment it is perfectly possible 'sexual' attraction is involved in man/woman friendship. And it's more and more accepted in society rules: it's called friends with benefits. But consequences can go 2-ways: it can destroy the initial friendship or it can enhance friendship. What's the opinion of the ladies about these 2 options?

or you cc critics didn't think it was so bad, you didn't won't to comment anything bad about it. I was asked to write another one
so here it is. I thought I printed here for you to read something else here in the forum besides the same old stuff we seem to pull up in here and read.

Help your friend out or Not

I have a friend who is an average shy and stingy person, he is too nice and likes women but won't go ask them out. He starts to tell me about
a woman that he thinks is beautiful the other day, and I decided to help him out. Today I went to her apartment and chatted her up
about my friend, and got her phone number for him. She seem excited to meet him and she even told me to tell him not to be so shy.
So by helping my friend, it help myself by this: She had a friend that was single and looking for a date that she was sort shy and average
looking and didn't know if men would even take her out. At first I was sort of not sure what to expect and was thinking of saying no. But if
I did say no I was afraid she wouldn't go out with my friend since I set them up, so I said sure, so she gave me her number. My friend and I
had a very successful date with the two the first meeting out.

Now here is were it turns, on the second date out, the girl I got my friend a date with wanted to go out with me and the girl I went out with
wanted to go out with my friend, so we all agree to it. After the dinner, movie and dance the girl that was with my friend asked hey why not
all of us go to a hotel room and have have an orgy. You should had seen the eyes of my friend and myself and looking at each other there were
no doubt we were going to say no. When we got inside the hotel room I told my friend now make sure you don't try to double team and try to stay
six feet away from me and I will do the same. When the girls came out of the bathroom we surprised they were holding a gun to us and decided
to play this sick game with us, first they tie us down on the floor against the bed post and gag our mouths with their panties and wrap duct tape
around our mouth. (The story gets a little longer for the magazine, so I will shorten it up some here to get to the main point of this story for this forum)
After several unusal acts of sex during this time we were untie and free and found out the gun was actually a water pistol. This is were I started thinking
was all this worth helping your friend out or not, besides the pain I'm feeling.

A person asked one time that was struggling with dating what advice do you have. First thought came to my mind was, why you asking me, but I took a shot at it anyway. Be yourself, have patience and faith, that's some advice you're likely to receive from me. I consider this to be utterly ridiculous when a person gets down about dating, and no I'm no therapist that has all the answers.What kind of advice or help is this to a person who's been struggling with dating? A person who goes on one date every 3 months or 6 months or once a year. A person who's not happy? A person who's obviously doing something wrong but has no idea what it might be or better yet don't wanna know? Rather than simply whining about it, and waiting patiently, and having faith, perhaps it would be more beneficial if the struggle person would decide to take charge and actively create the kind of life they want. To learn the mistakes their making in the past and how to correct this in the future.
To learn the correct attitudes, behaviors, and thoughts which will enable you to want to date. This would be useful advice! But then we'd run into another problem.

I don't think this applies only to our generation, or that this is somehow new. Anne Frank died in 1945.

With respect, I disagree, my friend. Anne Frank speaks with irony of the way we live through the stories we tell ourselves (regrets), instead of being with what is in front of us now (gratitude). This may be a product of our age, but it's not new: sages have been telling us this for millennia.

To the contrary I think more of us hear this message now, that we can choose to be thankful rather than be sorry. What an amazing young woman Anne Frank was.

I just don't agree with Anne Frank. May she rest in peace. I think dead people receive more flowers because first, it's traditional to give flowers at a funeral (not because of regrets), and 2nd because it's a concentrated time of giving.

Good point. And I would add that real intimacy has less to do with being naked and/or having sex and more to do with opening the doors to allow access to all your hopes, fears, desires, vulnerabilities and quirks. Sometimes good friends or family members achieve this to a greater degree than lovers do. And that type of "intimacy" requires a level of trust that may take years to develop.

At the same time you can be naked and still hide within yourself. In this way "lovers' in the physical sense can be completely separate and alone although in a shared experience.

In the end, for me, it's about choosing love, for myself and others...

Again, respectfully, I disagree. There are all kinds of love. I personally like the ancient Greek concepts of love: Eros, Phileo, Storge, and Agapeo. Eros - erotic, sexual, lust, romantic love, the physical attractedness that excites; Phileo - friendship, companionship love; Storge - affection, caring, familial love; and Agape - Giving, sacrificial kind of love. The love you describe fits more the latter kind. Here on CC it is most obviously the first kind

I restate what I said. You are correct. Love is not all about flirting, etc.
