The whole question of categories and what one can expect is a perennial one here for hosts and guests alike. My take is that CC, for all its good intentions, has created this problem. Their admirable aim in creating these categories and defining them is to make clear for both hosts and guests what the expectations are, and by so doing avoid disagreements. However, I'm afraid that by trying to make all these subtle distinctions (3 within the adult category) they are engaging in so much hair-splitting about how fast the woman ought to disrobe and have inadvertently created the very disagreements they were trying to avoid. Much more preferable would be to limit the categories to two: Adult (in which there is an unambiguous expectation of nudity) and Non-Adult (in which there is an equally unambiguous understanding that there will be no nudity). From there let the hosts and guests play it out by way of their own interaction. This need not be legislated.

I am sympathetic to the legitimate complaints of both hosts and guests. Hosts are certainly right when they say that though there is an expectation of nudity, they can elect to refuse on the grounds of abuse or rudeness on the part of the guest, just as a waitress in a restaurant would legitimately refuse to serve a customer who barked, “Bring me my food bitch!” Guests likewise have a legitimate complaint when a girl tries to play coy games in an effort to stall and run up the minutes on the clock. A guest should not expect to be excused from the usual courtesies that all well-mannered people afford one another, but after these courtesies are extended and pleasantries exchanged, the host should deliver the service for which she is being paid. A reasonable expectation is an unwritten contract and both parties should honor it. If a host is personally conflicted about getting naked or is just intent on playing a game at a customer’s expense, then in the first case she should move to Non-Adult (or quit), and in the second case be fired. Likewise, guests who have a demonstrated record of abusing hosts should not be permitted to be on the site---no matter how much money they spend! CC should be as diligent about enforcing this practice as they are about censoring hosts for infractions of the rules.

I must confess, apart from the profit motive, the reason for Non-Adult categories here escapes me. The motive for profit I understand, and it seems to me CC is taking advantage of another dimension of human psychology that runs parallel, but often is in conflict with the overtly sexual aims of the main event here, namely some women’s ambivalence about working for an erotic webcam service. Many women (I don’t say all) have a repressed desire to perform in this erotic venue, but will not admit it to themselves. Therefore they tell themselves or allow themselves to be convinced by recruiters that they are---as one self-deluded girl put it to me---“not like these other girls.”
Then there are the girls who are not self-deceived, but who want to capitalize on their knowledge that human beings often most desire to have what they cannot have. They cleverly assume they can have their cake and eat it too: They keep their clothes on, but they still get paid! They understand that many guys find a challenge in getting the nominally good girl (“Friends & Family”*) to disrobe. These kinds of guys have no interest in the “Instant Action” girls; they are easily, indeed “instantly” had. They want to de-flower the innocent girl, or at least one who poses as one, for I would be surprised if there was even one “innocent” girl in the entire “Non-Adult” category. I have some measure of sympathy for the self-deceived girls, but have little for those who willfully and consciously “play” customers. I hasten to add, however, that no guest has been forced at gunpoint to patronize these girls. Still I am sympathetic to those naïve guys (counterparts to the self-deceived hosts) who get “played” by the slick hosts. As for the guys with the macho egos, who think they can charm the pants off a nun, well they deserve what they get and give at least some credence to P.T. Barnum’s famous line, “Never give a sucker an even break.”
