In terms of your issue, it sounds like you have done almost everything that you can. I think that you should just continue to be honest with her about your feelings, emphasize that you are and will always be just friends, and encourage her to find someone else.

I am not sure why things just "cannot be", but maybe explain this to her in no uncertain terms. ("I love my wife and my children and will not leave them... ever.", "I love my girlfriend and will marry her soon.", "I am too old for you. We are from different worlds. We have different interests. We are simply not compatible. ", "I am gay. We can only be friends." - sorry, couldn't resist.) And you could also, without being too cruel, talk about other women. ("I had a date last night with a nice woman from work.", "My girlfriend and I just had a nice dinner.", "My wife and I are going on a trip next week.") She will be hurt but sooner or later will get the message.

You could also try to play amateur psychologist and try to figure out what is making her love you. Are you older and she had a problem with her dad? Is she alone and has few friends and you are always there for her here on CC? Did you help her in some way and now she things you are an angel? Are you very attractive so she is infatuated with you? If you can figure out what made her fall in love with you other than you were nice to her, then you may be able to show her that her feelings are not as deep or as real as she thinks.

In terms of ignoring her or acting mean to make her dislike you or anything like that, I would avoid that unless absolutely necessary. Sooner or later you may just have to tell her that it is becoming too difficult for you to handle this situation and that if she cannot accept that you view her only as a friend, then you will have to stop talking to her. But I would try the other approaches first.

Thanks for the advice LN. I have been straight, the whole time. I could start to tell that she was getting soft on me and actually told her to not fall in love, kind of jokingly, but sith a little seriousness to it, just in case I read it wrong. I did start to pull away and stop visiting, but it got bad after that. Still dont visit as much as before, but I did try to stop it before it got too bad.

I am talking about hosts hiding pics from non-members, not about a host blockng a particular member or country on CC.

When a hosts has a website linked to CC, a non-member can still click on that link and go to that website so any pics on that website can be seen by the non-member. Since the host may have reasons besides simply conforming to CC's rules for pics when she hides certain pics (such as protecting her privacy), allowing non-members to see pics on a host's website could defeat the intent of her hiding her CC pics from such non-members.

Also, even if the host profile is blocked for certain countries or members, one can search the internet for the host's screen name and potentially come across the host's personal website thereby defeating the purpose of blocking certain people from seeing her profile. I suppose that a website can be blocked for certain locations, but I doubt most hosts here do that for their own sites. Plus, if a blocked member is from a country that the host accepts other members from, she would not want to block her personal website for those other members.

Hosts should be aware of these issues.

I know about one site at least where, as you mentioned, pics for members can be seen by everyone...but what can we do?
CC created that site some time ago for its promotion purposes..and we cannot change that...pity of course...:(

I wasn't really thinking about affiliates of CC. There you could just hide your face in pics if that was your concern. A lot of hosts do that on sites. But to hide face on your own personal website would kind of defeat the purpose of having your own site.

Mondo, I must defend Mary and, by extension Lady, as regards their thoughts on the kinds of guys who feel a need to feign sincerity with a pathetic display of whimpering, ersatz, emotion. I see nothing “rude” in their making the observation. A tad cynical, yes; but not “rude.”

Places like this are founded on illusion and fantasy—i.e. lies. If we view it from this perspective we are less likely to feel cheated when we encounter insincerity, subtle or overt. We cannot reasonably expect to find earnestness and virtue here. For that matter these qualities are not found in great abundance in the world at large. No one forces us to be here and I’m as put off as anyone by hosts who are nothing more than rank opportunists with scarcely a shred of humanity. I am equally confident that hosts find this same lack of humanity in many members.

We all have different reasons for being here and I suspect the common denominator is suffering, be it economic, psychological, emotional or an amalgam of all three. Compassion (com + passio = common suffering) therefore gives us the capacity for recognizing our common humanity and affords us the ability to at least treat each other decently. One could legitimately argue that this entire enterprise is mutually degrading to hosts and members alike, but we need not, as individuals, follow suit.

Nice list. The irony is that the honest ones tend to cost you a lot more money than the ones that lie. Usually you can see who is lying early on in the relationship and cut your loses, but the honest, nice hosts are the ones that you dig in for the long haul with.

You spend more time chatting with the honest ones, sometimes just trying to help them out. You come into their sessions just to chat for an hour instead of a 10 or 20 mintue show. You spend a lot of money on phone calls. Maybe you even send them money or go visit them which is often expensive. But if you make a few good friends, help some people out, and don't get your heart broken too many times, I suppose that it is worth it.

Maybe one day the liars and scammers will realize that honesty truly is the best policy.

And thanks for your support regarding that other post. In light of the fact that the thread starter of that particular post was a host that I had listed as a "host to avoid", I saw no need to respond to her in the general forum. She had already attempted a lengthy, rambling attack on me a day or two before with a post that CC decided to delete after I responded to her in the general forum so this time she tried a more mature approach to try to bring me down a notch. I decided to let her have her day and simply responded to her in her own personal forum with a nice, long post, lol, which she promptly deleted of course.

She was obviously upset with me for telling members to avoid her and was looking for a way to attack me but at the same time try to make it not seem to be personal. Of course it did not work since as anyone would anticipate in light of how many people have favorably responded to my posts, a number of people did not agree with her. I didn't want to deal with the issue here, but since you were good enough to support me, I thought that I would explain.

But the good news for her and my destractors is that I probably won't be posting too much in the future. I have been dramatically cutting down my video sessions (in part because of issues discussed in our sub-thread here) and was posting a lot to help wean myself from the site. (Free porn and talking to host "friends" on yahoo is also helping, lol, although no surprise, many of these "friends" have less time for me now.) Anyway, it is time to be less of a video chat lover and to do other things. Maybe I will focus on music instead. :)
