RE: Your favourite
You mean English as in from Great Britain? Poe was American, and there are many great American poets.
Among the British, Shakespeare, John Donne, William Blake, Percy Shelley and John Keats are the ones the come to mind immediately. Many more to be discovered I'm sure.

RE: are you lucky ?
if it's worth a shitload of money then it's luck , if it isn't then is just a sad reminder
RE: are you lucky ?
world war 2 medals are colectable..so for sure you will find a buyer, but don't set a price on you're own..better go and evaluate it :)
from what i know they can go from 10 $ to 400 $
Good luck :)

RE: are you lucky ?
i don't really believe in luck...but if you keep on a possitive thinking everyhting will work just fine for you.But if you wanna keep it as a charm, do it. I have my ,,lucky,, charms also..when i watch them they remind me to be strong and go on..cause nothing comes by ,,luck,, in our lifes..if we work hard we will eventually achieve what we want :)
RE: are you lucky ?

Life doesn't allow for us to go back and fix what we have done wrong in the past, but it does allow for us to live each day better than our last.

Suggestion
Can the page leading into these forums be modified a bit, please? Where it says "freedom of speech," can that be changed to something more along the lines of "please be thoughtful and and considerate with your words," maybe?
For those who actually cherish the concept of free speech, the fact that these forums claim to be a bastion for free expression, but in fact are anything but, is more than just a little bit fucking annoying.
Thanks.

France
This mad, sad world has shocked us again. God help the French to come to terms with these latest atrocities. I hope no one here has friends or relatives affected.
RE: France
that's just realy twisted! minding your own business, walking on the street, beeing at a concert or wherever and having your life end suddenly or be drasticaly modiffied (for those who survived but have serious injuries) by some insane brainwashed monsters. Makes me sad that these "creatures" live amongst us. R.I.P. for the victims.

Glad the question got asked. I was thinking "Salient Reflection" but that was stretching it a bit much.
Have Fun, Enjoy and let's begin
As you play the cc anniversary games, think about some good points that can make the games fun;
(1). Be positive to be doubtful. Too optimistic to be fearful. And too determined to be defeated.
(2). After each game, be able to say: I gave it all I could, I gave it my best
(3). I'm not in competition with anybody but myself. My goal is to beat my last performance.
(4). The wise learn many things from their opponent.
and (5) If you can't win, make the person ahead of you break the record.
and as a bonus, keep on smiling and love your neighbors.
and by the way Happy Anniversary CC and many years ahead.

RE: anyone into jazz ?
Jazz is really a way of messing with tunes and fashioning new ways of interpreting songs. So for me there are too many to name, over too long a stretch of time, but here goes...
I've had the good fortune to hear Gregory Porter sing live... he is my favorite contemporary jazz singer. Absolutely check him out... wonderful.
I love me some piano players: Fats Waller, Art Tatum, Duke Ellington, Thelonious Monk, Jelly Roll Morton, Nat King Cole, Bill Evans.
I have to mention trumpeter Chet Baker, beautiful and cool. And Brazilian jazz. And "Peanuts" composer Vince Guaraldi, who for my generation was maybe the first jazz music we heard.
If I was to mention songs one I love is Willow Weep for Me. Almost anything Johnny Mercer wrote is worth a listen, as well as anything by Hoagy Carmichael.
So, yes, into jazz :))))
PS: Though he's not considered strictly jazz the world lost a wonderful musician in the past few days: New Orleans pianist and songwriter Allen Toussaint.

RE: anyone into jazz ?
Hi. Itss a bit standard but I like Take 5 by Dave Brubeck. More recent Jazz - anything by Courtney Pine and I also loved the collaboration between Buddy Miles and Carlos Santana.
