Well, even if you don't read the posted articles, the "thought of the day" threads still stick out like a sore thumb and can be annoying if one lets it. I, for one, couldn't care less. Don't read the threads, Not annoyed by their presence.

hey I not only watch, I play for 22 years, and coach for 8 years and now a armchair quaterback fan for the last 6 years, and I can tell you just because a qb has had a bad year or 2 and almost done, doesn't mean their not the best, their the 2 best in the game today,they just need more support around them, a coach and a owner to put the team together. Now if you want to talk about someone already done, lets talk about Joe Montana now their is the all-time best for you and I would put Dan Marino number 2. Just saying the best 2 in the game today are the Manning's. That's all I am saying and sticking to it, you can have you choose.

Hmmm we are human but non the less very inhumane in how we react we destroy and mutate in life using all the resources, you could compare us to a virus in how have the ability of changing and replication into nature and destroying it, reproducing by transcribing into DNA, in this term that would be transcribing in to nature.

If we take time to think and read and learn and have a open mind there is far more to life then we think. I just wanted to share something with you all tht fascinates me and makes me indeed question about us as humans and how we are what we are today.

This is fascinating stuff. It seems clear there were very advanced civilizations dating back to what we think of as prehistory, regardless of origin (alien or not). But it certainly shows we don't know what we don't know.

good to see so many ppl sharing their views here. i was always tentative to start these threads. buts its heartening to see so many of you taking time out of ur work to read and post ur views and feedback.

its very hard to define us as humans u have to like look really deep not just at the shallow parts of human nature and also you have to look how our brains work , or in many cases don't, we often live in ignorence is bliss and think things are just they way they are , because its thats the way it is.
However we rarely take the undertaking in life for enlightenment do we? There are so many parts to the human mind that are locked off , undiscovered, example the pineal gland which located in the epithalamus, near the center of the brain, between the two hemispheres, tucked in a groove where the two halves of the thalamus join.
Odd part is it activates at birth and at death, and aparently all we eat and toxify are bodies with has the effect of calcification to the pineal thus rendering it inactive. synthetic fluoride and synthetic calcium, are specifically shown to have an affinity for the pineal gland, weakening its abilities to produce our neurotransmitters and receive photons of light from the sun. Funny part is our water from taps contains fluorides and such. If we lock off our minds are ideas and self discovery will we ever know who we really are. Dear Amira, your words are beautiful. but I have to disagree. Time is all we can possess in this life. We can't possess even our own thoughts... just try to hold them. They arise and then decay, just as all physical things do, even as digital bits and bytes fixed in ethereal space, as these thoughts are.

Happiness is a choice we can make in each moment, if we have the presence of mind to do so. The shadows that pursue us are the ideas and thoughts of what we believe will make us happy or, so often, the fears we imagine to do us harm.

well seems, both of you are correct. the perception of things really matter. we are what we think and our thoughts dictate what we become. may be thats why all our religions guide us to have good thoughts and compassion. as we learn from life, our thoughts change but if we stay true to that, happiness just stays on with us like a shadow as said by my lady :)

You can think all happy thoughts, but does that lead to a happy life? Our minds are only capable of remembering what has happened, and even that not very well. And we think of the future only in terms of what has happened in the past.

This may just be semantics between us. But I think we place too much reliance on the mind and fail to listen to the heart, too often.

Wow, if we're only the result of OUR thoughts, that's is rather selfish, no? I'm rather an adept of what we are, is a product of our surroundings: nature and nuture, you know. We live in a society, and they determine our image, and we accomodate to it. Example: many people see me as a jester on CC, well, that's how I feel as a jester here ;-)

indeed well said hades , we are more converned with how we look in todays societies example today look around...how many people need help in society , dont help cos you want to look good, help them cos its part of the inner core of you calling out to help.
Take a homeless out for coffee with you dont give him coins, give him some food and such, lets be selfless and not selfish. Say hi in the underground to an old lady have a chat with her, make people change by doing good actions which you want to do and inspire others to follow in selfless acts to be more humane then we are becoming. Get people to look up out of there smartphones and talk thus make others less drone like in there sense of being.
Do a selfless act this week something to help others.

very true sadly society is indoctrinated to be brainwashed to act a certain way like unwritten grey line rules which we hopelessly follow. we just think about money job and work and rinse and repeat , or tap away like stupid people on our smartphones letting time pass by.

so many live in ignorence hades not much can be done people are too stuck in there own bubble of life and forget to be real....some of us are awakened to a sense of being concious of shit that goes on many of us fear to say when shit matters...cos we think its a danger, having an opinion is not good in todays society and being different in thinking is bad too in the majority sense, so we stay tust , as in quiet in swedish terms.

:) have faith in people. if you can , if you are willing to guide, to nurture, to believe in and trust, you as an individual can make the difference.
