Human sexual behavior frequently comes along with much drama, guilt, shame, and "baggage." We tend to hide it from the world. Even the most open of us exhibit the tendency to keep sex private. We are an odd species in that way. Truth is our bodies have many imperatives such as eating and sleeping and yet we wrap up the reproductive aspects of our lives in tight little packages somewhat "hidden" from the world. Hard to think of another species that acts this way. I have a feeling it stems from the concept that humans are not purely monogamous and not purely polygamous......we are caught between these two extremes. And from an evolutionary aspect the concept of culkoldery may be why?

If you look at it from a purely evolutionary standpoint (which I do) then it makes sense that NO man would want "his woman" to be pregnant with another man's child. Evolution says pass on OUR own genes. And our biology is such that it is a huge investment in energy to raise a child (unlike some species which just lay eggs for example). So under this logic men do not want to raise anyone else's child because it does not help him pass on his genes when he really should be providing for his own offspring. However it is in a women's best interest to have children by different fathers as that will likely give a greater chance of at least some of her DNA being passed down. I hope I explained this well.

This same logic applies to adultery. If a man “cheats” on his spouse than he increases the chances of having more offspring which enhances his ability to pass on his own DNA. But it works even better if he does not have to actually invest the time and effort to actually raise them. But for women they want a man who will provide (hunt and gather) for her babies. She wants loyalty. He wants to spread his sperm.
We see this in the psychology of adultery. Women tend to be most upset when their husbands have an emotional attachment to another woman (more likely to lose the provider) and tend to be more forgiving if it was just pure sex. Men are outraged when their wives have sex with another man because they may end up raising some other man’s baby, which from an evolutionary standpoint would be a total waste of effort.

Maybe the lies we tell ourselves and others are a tacit acceptance of our inability to love ourselves as we are, without having to question ourselves all the time? Because our motives are not what we think if we would believe our behavior is driven by biological needs.

It is hard to give any hotel recommendations as there is no idea how much money you are ready to spend. Concerning sightseeing, it will be Christams season so I would recommend you to walk somewhere in the center to watch XMas Fest and visit ice-rink on Red Square.
