I have read a lot of posts from members who are shocked to find out that their host friend at CC is really not a true friend and only interested in their money. Here is a little analogy to help you understand. (Doesn't apply in every case here but in most)
Pretend your host friend is a waitress. She works at a restaurant you like to visit a few times a week. Maybe every day. She smiles at you when you arrive. She knows your name. She really likes you. She knows what you want and what you like. She flirts with you, jokes with you, chats with you if the restaurant is not too busy. She tells you a little about her personal life. She senses when you are upset and asks what's the matter. You share some general advice on life from time to time. You are a good guy in her eyes. No hassle. Makes coming to work less of a chore. All in all you appear to be friends. You leave her a nice tip after every meal and tell her you will see her tomorrow. Life is good.
One day you walk in the restaurant and your waitress friend is gone. Is she sick you ask? No...she got another job. You are a bit shocked. Maybe hurt. She didn't say a word to you about it. Did she go to another restaurant you ask? No...she took an office job. She was sick of putting up with guys here, she wanted a job with benefits and she was tired of lying to her friends and family about being a waitress...in any case it is none of your business. You are a bit depressed and sad. Until you realize.....
YOUR FRIENDSHIP HAS NO CONTEXT OUSIDE OF THE RESTAURANT. You were a good customer. Maybe her favorite. But you were a customer. You paid her money. She satisfied your physical need of hunger. That is the basis of the friendship.
So draw the analogy. The girls here might think you are nice, funny, clever and just an all around wonderful human being but.... you are first and foremost a customer who gives them money for providing a service and outside of CC there is no basis for friendship. They would never form a friendship with you outside of your economic relationship. When you realize that CC becomes a lot more fun.

I have host and ex host friends outside of CC, in real not just IM and with less of an economic relationship than you may have with your gf or wife. I know that applies to other members too. Oh and I once spent a wonderful night with the waitress, just some roses the next day to show affection, respect and thanks. Live a little more by losing some of those predjudices. ;-)

Its not prejudice what he/she talks about. Its the general situation; the 'friend' who is actually only customer, friend only under the bounds of CC. He didnt said its a rule. I have a friend i met here, we passed the border of cc. We didnt have nights together, no marriage ideas, just friends and its cool. We share news, advices, help when its needed, but i have to admit almost all my lovely customer whom i like and are my favorites, remain customers in the end.

The point of this my friend is you should not put too much emotional stakes in relationships here. They can be fun, pleasant and enjoyable but they are based on sex and money. The hosts know that very well. It is the members who often confuse true feelings with commerce.

We often set our own limitations. CC friendships can and do mature into the 'real' world. Personally, CC has given me some extraordinary friendships and experiences, been to places I never would have known about and met women I never would have otherwise. I don't bother with other sites now, they are purely commercial. Sorry your experiences here have just been based upon a credit card.

When issues like this come up it is a pity that the host forum is not open to all. A week seldom passes without a post from a host saying how she has fallen in love with a member or had her heart broken by one. So it cuts both ways.

An interesting analogy - but you mainly see it from the customer's point of view. Let's look at it as the waitress might have seen it. Here is a guy who is pleasant to chat with and makes her job a little bit easier and more pleasant. But he never tries to get her phone number, find out her birthday so he can get her a card or maybe suggest they meet up for a drink sometime when she is not working. In other words he never tries to take the friendship out of the context of the restaurant. You cannot expect a host to show true friendship if you only seem to want to be a customer. The friendship has to have a context away from CC but need not be completely away from CC. Also some members seem to equate friendship with free vids, which is a bit like asking the waitress friend not to charge you fro your meal.

Using the restaurant analogy, I can relate to that. I have a favorite place that I go to and I drink only coffee with tha rare addition of a muffin or other snack. So I am a low-spender but still enjoy that camraderie that I find there.

LOL - When I was younger a big group of us used to always hang out at IHOP, a la "Friends" (the American TV show).
We never spent much money, but we'd be there for hours upon hours every night in that area in the back. We never bothered the "normal" customers out front, but we had quite a little world built amongst ourselves (customers of both sexes, cooks, waitresses, managers) that included relationships and even marriages.

A lot of friendships and deeper relationships are based on money. Without it they fail. Most people do not realize this until they run into financial problems. Real friendship and love are much rarer than it seems.

The thinking is muddled: rare things are not necessarily of high value. The value comes with demand: something may have absolute rarity but if nobody wants it, no value will be attached to it.

I have online friendships with a number of hosts. Some I will go visit, if the time and circumstances are right. One thought is how sincere are the friendships and invitations? I have all of their Yahoo nick's and use them to see if a friend is online without having to go to the trouble of logging into cc. I know they are working and often cannot (or don't want to) spend a lot of time in IM. Though ocassionally I will spend quite some time in conversation there I *never* ask for free video.
I recently got a mic/headset that I may use and I was anxious to try it. I looked on my IM list and found two hosts online there. I went to one of my very favorites and said "please help me test the mic" I'm not sure it works. Her response was "we'll test it in video." I said I wanted to try it in IM because it didn't seem to be working and I wanted to test it there first. Her response was "come to vid."
Ok, so she puts on a hot show at reasonable rates, but friend she is not. Such an easy test! And one I would never have contemplated.
The other host gladly let me "call" her and confirmed the mic worked. We talked a little and then she went back to work and I logged-off.
Guess which host is my first choice now?

If the girl's on a studio, it may be very uncomfortable for her to speak with you by mic, if there's 3 or 4 or 5 more girls around who will, quite possibly, make fun of her.
Also, she may have been in video already and busy... You never know.

You know there is a way to test your mic in the windows control panel. No need to pretend you have to "test" you mic with a host.

Both Gort's and fwaapping.. posts are very reasonable. Many times members make requests without thinking about the possible situations of the host. Also you did not consider it a test when you asked her but she may have thought you were testing her and resented it. Her studio admin may have happened to be next to her, many other possibilities.

I have been a viewer for a while. have visited girls in a little shy many times. But recently was told no nudity except in one2one. Never heard this before so am asking is this norm now. If this is case then things have changed a lot.

In theory a host's show is supposed to be the same in open video as in one to one. The one to one option was to provide privacy so another member would not enter your video. In reality one to one is a method of charging for two classes of video. Many hosts will not do an open video period. Just one to one. LIttle shy has been wide open for years. Your show ranges from nothing but a smile to a beer can placed stategically.

A host is NOT REQUIRED to strip fully in Little Shy. She is even allowed to show nothing, if that is her choice. It is the most flexible category of all. This is why many viewers hate the category. In theory, there is no genital action. If she declines you must respect it.

while this is nicely stated, i would add pictures should be an indication of show expected. if pictures show nudity then the expectation is that nudity can be done in open.

I sympathise with your sentiments but that is a difficult one. I notice over the years that many hosts seem comfortable with sexy pics but are quite reserved in vids.

Actually the one hard and fast rule is that there is no difference in what is offered. CC told me that exclusive privacy is the main difference between a One2One and open sessions so the host cannot use One2One to elude from performing in open sessions.

If you love him that much it will take a lot to forget. Just as you think you are over him, there will be some little reminder. A song, a mutual friend, and it all comes flooding back. There is no easy answer, except maybe to totally distance yourself from him but that probably means leaving behind everything and immersing yourself totally in you home life. Sounds to me like you love your husband and feel guilty about your secret rendezvous with this other guy... even if it is strictly online... and know it is wrong. Let me ask you this... do you really love this other guy? I mean the relationship between a husband and wife can become routine after being married for a while... maybe seem boring. Mobile Phones ........
I am fairly new to this site but already have had two one2one videos interrupted by mobile phone calls to the host! The mobile phone may be a great invention and i could not run my business without it BUT when you are half way through a one2one video and the host takes a phone call it really changes the 'mood'! Then the host wonders why you are annoyed and want to leave! If I ran my business with that level of customer service I would not have a business anymore! Sorry to rant and rave!!!! Lol!

Best solution is to call her on her mobile during the video...nothing beats a video with phone. Very personal and intimate or just out and out funny. In either case she can't receive calls if you are talking to her. Very inexpensive using international calling cards.

Ahhh, but what you must remember is, these calls are VERY IMPORTANT. It is studio boss or Mom and must be answered, no matter what else is happening. No way should you get the wrong idea that it is a boyfriend or another customer wanting phone or to arrange an appointment. That would NEVER happen here.

I agree with you BlueMoon. If a phone is answered I leave as soon as possible on a 121. Phone messages can be left so that the host can call back the caller later. I do not visit that host after that.
