RE: Russia vs Slovenia (or a non-puzzle post))))

Its a pity that Russia will not be in South Africa with such good players but they blew it , mainly in Moscow in the first game , hard to imagine such a big country is beaten by a country most people could not find on the map :) and same for Ukraine beaten at home by Greece . I guess there will be no russian speaking voices in South Africa next year . I think you need to find another team to follow and I suggest Spain :)

Reply

RE: Russia vs Slovenia (or a non-puzzle post))))

A lot of Russian ppl write letters to Fifa asking to replay the match Russia vs Slovenia and requests the judge to dismiss the referee Terje Hauge for a bride. During the second half someone threw A KNIFE to the russian goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev. According to the rules of FIFA, Slovenia must be disqualified automatically for this ugly accident. Terje Hauge saw this but he did nothing to stop this, and didnt even pay attantion to it. Besides everyone saw how he was helping Slovenian players to get up when they fall and stuff. And what he did for Russians? Gave 2 red cards to our best players(one of them-for nothing) among 3 yellow cards, while he gave Slovenia just 1 yellow card, even tho there were LOTS of situations with Slovenians breaking the rules and they got absolutely nothing for it. I really hope that Fifa will take all this to consideration (im pretty sure they will) and i also hope that wife of this lame referee will be cheation on him with a russian guy lol)

And to Bye Bye-no thx))) I have a team to follow and thats not Spain))) Ill be with England and/or France)

RE: Russia vs Slovenia (or a non-puzzle post))))

Hi Ksenia , well hey I guess it was cruel indeed on Russia and the incident with the knife should have stopped the game at that time if it came on the field of play it will now depend on the referees report but we have had problems ourselves with this referee and when i say we i mean england and also he is known by english and other clubs in europe . Its a pity but I see no chance Russia will get the game replayed and if you think life is only cruel on russians you should have seen France's goal last night , a total and blatant hand ball by Henry which went unnoticed . As regards following a team i would forget France they have no spine and they got there on cheating , but following England ? England's best chance without a doubt is with Capello at the helm , if England win the world cup it will be mainly because of him :))) As for wishing the referees wife has an affair with a russian , tut tut so bitchy , i cant understand why the russians didnt send him a few nice girls before the game and after so as to guarantee victory , maybe the slovenians did :))) if worst comes to the worse , use a voodoo doll , I am sure you know how to use :))))

Lol)) Yes even tho i didnt watch France playing, i heard that it wasnt fair at all...Oh well...Not everything is fair in this life, im just upset that we will not go to Africa, ouch that hurts((( As for my choice in the teams to follow...We dont choose who to love, i just love these 2 countries, one is my fav destination to travel, and another one is my dream to go one day))))) And i love english football, i know that proly they will become world champs the day when the hell freezes, but oh well))Im with them))) As for France i think they have good chances))

Reply

RE: Russia vs Slovenia (or a non-puzzle post))))

I am trying to put you off England Ksenia as I dont want you giving them the kiss of death :))) I know you are not always the luckiest in life , so placing your bet on England will be baaad . I think there will be 6-8 nations who can win , depends on injuries , yellow cards , managers and so on ......... dont bet against some of the african teams and Brazil look pretty good too . Argentina , well i hope they just keep Maradona as manager cos with thay monkey in charge he makes great players look ordinary :))

Okay and do u understand the huge attraction of watching tall guys running back and forth trying to put the ball into the basket? true, i don't really understand the appeal of sports in general, and when it comes to football and the nationalistic zeal that some bring to it, i understand that least of all.
maybe you can enlighten me and tell me what exactly what it is about football that you find good and smart?
btw, i believe canadians and australians have their own versions of football as well, do you deride both those games too, or does your apparent disdain for the american game have more to do with it simply being american? :)

Why I hate the puzzles and suggested improvements

I am not playing this contest. I have spent a total of $3,48 so far simply to spend one minute to check out two hosts. I have zero pieces. Perhaps I will visit some friends, but unless I get what appears to be a piece that nobody has during my conversations, I am intending to stay away.

Why? Because right now the fewest pieces any host needs is 13. About 6 hours ago, when I went to bed, the fewest pieces any host needed was also 13, and many of the same hosts are still playing.

The program CC uses is designed to keep the contest going for 5 days with the last prize being given right at the very end. I am okay with that. But there needs to be a more steady stream of winners earlier on.

It will not be until the first full day is almost over that someone wins based on history. Somehow, things should be designed so that someone can win much sooner. Maybe one winner after 12 hours. Then another winner after the next 10. Then another after the next 8. Then another after the next 6. Or something like that. I haven't really sat down to figure it all out.

There will probably only be 3 or 4 winners in the first two days, and my hypothetical is 4 winners in 36 hours versus 48, but at least people will see winners and have a reason to play. Right now, once you need just 13, you might as well stop playing until you see someone need less. (Of course, I have no idea what members need, but I would imagine they are stuck around 13 too unless CC is trying to allow more members to win this time.)

And I would further suggest that CC invest a little bit more money into prizes or perhaps distribute them differently. Perhaps have more larger prizes. CC could even do this without spending more by making the top prize $1500 like it does at other contests. That would free up an addition $5000 and allow for 5 additional top prizes so 15 $1500 prizes and make it more exciting.

RE: Why I hate the puzzles and suggested improvements

dont dump on your members

We hate the puzzles coz it is not run fairly by the cc corporation. It is designed to get more money for hosts and the corporation, it is designed to get more customers for the hosts and the corporation. Every one is a winner except for most of the members.

CC Wins big
Hosts Win: with more traffic, more open member wallets in hopes of winning, more promotion, some hosts even win big with cash prizes.

Very few members win and when they do win the winnings is only in "cc credit" - so again it is slanted towards cc corporation and hosts getting more profits.

RE: pics whiout photoshop

without photoshop usage requested by cc is simply to lets them doing their own editing, from an original photo with a good quality. When you are editing photo your destroy a bit the quality of file, and as girls and some editors use too much the skin editing effect at the end the photo 'photoshoped' cannot be used for a cc editing (i m not a cc staff i confirm and my wallet too ;) ).
Anyway the photo 100% without editing doesnt exist ... or they are too ugly to be publish here or in magazine etc . There is always an edition , all will depend of the degree of edition you want bring to a photo : light and color corrrection, or detail correction, or skin correction, or body shape corection, or matpainting edition ... or all together ;)
And i forgot .... depend also of editor skill :)

Hello, my ex husband lives in US and what I can tell you: Think twice.
They will come to check if you really live with your husband...Mexican ladies made this kind of marriage such a lot in the past that they check more careful now to see if the relationship is genuine. My ex husband lives in US and he wrote to me years after our divorce that he is not so happy there anymore.
Be careful, food is terrible..restaurants are ....less beautiful than in movies, if I can say that.
People are not so rich as in the past, who lost the job after the stockmarket fell is living with a lot of stress because after 50 years old, you hardly find another job so you have to stay home and to live simple, from some cheques from the state, if I am correct.

RE: Fictitious marriage

As much as everyone thinks the USA is paved in gold that reality is long gone. As MISTRESS states times are hard here just like everywhere else in the world. You can be in love with a foreigner and have the best intentions but when you both are together in the USA many things are different for the new bride. Most people rely on cars and if you haven't been brought up around cars this is a big adjustment. Your language is not spoken here and your English is not good enough to get you around. Its hard to find the food you like or the medicine you are used to in your country.
Think very hard about coming here to the USA, either for love or money. The immigration process is long and full of papers, meetings and costs. Not as fun as it looks like in the movies. Best regards!

What matters is YOUR country versus ANOTHER one

I guess I will have to be the prideful American here, but I just had to respond to some of the things that Mistress wrote.

Here's the bottom line: If you LIKE what the USA stands for...or you ever dreamed of living here (versus staying in your home country)...then everything is still THE SAME. Because the core things that you liked about America in the past are still there. I laughed when MIstress said "restaurants are less beautiful than in movies." Well, here's another news flash for everyone -- pretty much 99.999% of EVERYTHING is less beautiful than its portrayed in the movies. Movies from ANY country (not just Hollywood) are always a beautiful and hyper-realized illusion...

...So I could say the same thing about Europe. Or Russia. Or Australia. Or any Asian country. I could say "Gee, it looked so much more charming and romantic in that movie I saw. But now that I'm here, it's pretty crappy and run down. And this food isn't any better than I could get back at home, so what's all the fuss about?"

Let's get real -- ALL places, from ANY country, always LOOK better in a movie or on TV. But to be truly happy you need to go there and see if that particular place...or that country...feels right to you. Maybe a Chinese woman wouldn't like American restaurants, but you know what I bet she'll absolutely love? All the OTHER freedoms (both personal and certainly political) that she could never get in China.

So, as I said, it's all relative to where you live NOW and where you'd like TO BE. And what YOU want to have in YOUR life -- either alone or sharing with a partner.

In fact, ironically there was a study released only a week or so ago that compared countries around the world, where people were asked "If you could move anywhere on Earth, no problem with Visas and that stuff at all -- WHICH country would you move to? Basically, the study was done to show which countries would INCREASE in population...and which countries would DECREASE and lose much of its citizenship due to migration. And, gee, what a surprise --the good ol' USA still came in among the top countries as to where people wish they could live the most, while many Europe countries would see massive amounts of people leaving because so many people simply want to get out and leave.

Right now, the economy is bad all over the world. That's just a fact of life because so much of the global market is entwined. But things will eventually bounce back (as they always do) which means you want to live in a country where you will have the BEST chance at upward mobility. Or you want to live in a country with an economic system that is capitalistic and let's you make your money and keep it. And America is certainly still high on that list.

In fact, I'll put it more simply. It doesn't matter where you live if you DON'T have a good business idea or product to sell. Or certain skill sets to sell -- such as being a computer programmer, a doctor, some job occupation that a country...or a city...actually NEEDS. If you don't have that to start with, then it doesn't matter WHERE you live. You're going to face hard times no matter what.

Me, I like being in control of my own destiny and I like my personal freedoms. And I like that America is still NOT as socialistic as Europe. Then again, Americans always see things in a different way than Europeans -- after all, that's why we sailed across the Atlantic and formed our own country a few hundred years ago!

Reply

A bit over the top pride here, as expected

It is interesting to see how prideful one can be, and coming from there it is really no big surprise. Presumption and lack of knowledge, history and culture helps a lot to create this self-preserving view of oneself. After all, a certain recent president stated himself that 'We Are The Greatest People' (tm) - I guess it doesn't get any better than that. All the rest of us poor unfortunates will only have to look up to you and admire you throughout our miserable existence.

All places are more beautiful than they look in movies? That's presumptuous to say the least. Have a look at a map and travel somewhere. To name but a few, I will list:

Praha, capital of Czech Republic (not any copied Pragues in USA)
Wien, capital of Austria (not any copied Viennas in USA)
Venezia, Italy (not any copied Venice's in USA)
Санкт Петербург, Russia's window to the west (not any copied Saint Petersburgs in USA)
Chang Sheng, The Great Wall of China (not any copy in...wait, that one is slightly difficult to make a plastic copy of, even in Las Vegas. Bummer)
Various places of natural beauty, for example Switzerland's Berner Oberland or Italy's Dolimiti.

All of these places are immensely beautiful in real - and no movie or TV program - can do them full justice. And they are only a few examples. So let's get real then?

What study was released? Origin = USA I presume? Made for Americans to still feel that they are the land of hope and glory, and milk and honey? While poor old miserable Europe would see all their residents disappear, if they only had the chance...poor us!

If capitalism is your ideal world, then - enjoy it. It takes several steps over bodies to reach it but hey - to each his own - those who are rich (there) deserve it, those who are poor - hmm actually quite many are poor there too, ironically enough - in The Greatest Country (tm).

Americans see things differently from Europeans indeed - it is easy to spot Americans travelling, for example. Mostly they are the most loud-mouthed, most demanding, and least language knowledgeable of them. And they want burgers, fries and coke for lunch instead of local cuisine.

Formed your own country? Yes..after chasing out and hunting down the indigenous natives, perhaps? And...a few hundred years ago? That sounds like a lot. It must be really old. Like Nicolas Cage says in 'National Treasure', almost wetting his pants as he sees the declaration of independence...'wow wow wow this is so unbelievably incredibly old, it is really...super duper mega ancient!' It is actually more than 200 years old! Really wow! For having such a short history, there is quite a lot of arrogance, lack of knowledge and self-preservation around. Put perhaps that is a result of being history-less.

So..swallow some pride (I doubt it is possible), wake up, and realise you are not the centre of the universe.

Peace out ;)
