More Frames per Second More Reliable More Live More Fun
Great news :-)...
Our technical team has nearly finished testing our fab new video software.
The new software will make CamContacts even more fun... delivering
streaming video at up to 4 times more frames per second than you
presently see (that's the number of times the picture is refreshed on your
browser per second). And it'll make the 'action' even more life-like and much
more fun !!
As well as faster video, the software has also been designed to be more reliable,
better at allowing for the ever-vague way that data travels across the
Internet.
It also keeps you informed on how your connection is running. With a 'Frames
per Second' meter in the top corner it's also really 'smart', so that if
there's a break in transmission due to a problem on the internet, it'll keep you
updated as it tries to re-establish the link with your chat-host.
For our chat-hosts, there is now additional support for Firewire (iLink) and
IEEE1394 devices - opening up a broader range of the latest high-quality
cameras many of which offer advanced zooming and high quality images.
Aiming to go 'live' across all our chat-hosts early in the New Year, there's
already quite a lot who are assisting in the test programme. So be ready for
even more fun when you find a chat-host with the new software !!
We'll let you know as soon as the testing is completed and all our chat-hosts
have converted to the new software.
We believe this is the best video system available on the internet and we hope
you all will enjoy the difference.
