Be My Valentine

Messages of love have been sent between lovers for hundreds of years starting when the Romans killed Saint Valentine, making him a martyr in the name of love.
We can now all avoid the risk of being stoned, fed to the lions or crucified by simply running down to our local bar to chat to the girl of our dreams. But that’s not as easy as it sounds!

Trying to woo and win a princess has never been that easy with the tools available to mortals. Through our extensive research we have discovered a number of different ways St. Valentines Day is celebrated around the world. Pig Heart Flinging was one of the more extreme customs we found, but we decided to leave that type of thing to the experts and focus on the more sensitive side of love.

Chocolates, Lingerie, Love Poems and Roses are the most popular love tokens. Most Women do not want practical gifts on Valentines Day (so save the currency converter and keep the wardrobe tidy for her birthday!)

Trying to find that special gift can be a nightmare, so we recommend that you concentrate on flowers and, even better still, Roses. Roses are the sacred flowers of Venus the Roman Goddess of Love and, if you rearrange the letters R.O.S.E you can find EROS - the God of Love. The thorny issue is what color roses should you buy?

It's amazing how love can influence songs, stories, inventions, deeds and commerce. We checked a well known search engine and were given 37 million results for "love songs" alone. So we can easily see why the world is heart-shaped and red-colored in the middle of February.
